Everything was amazing and so serene - beautiful property and great staff. The AC broke down and many started to check out, our family decided to stay and the host was so gracious, he gave each of us a fan in our rooms, compensated a discount for the trouble and was so appreciative to have us there. I would certainly revisit, the rooms were spacious, the food and drinks were delicious, and it was a very relaxing venue. Thank you to the owner and staff for making our visit very memorable!

The Serenity is well located in the heart of Tissamaharama. The manager Shantha welcomed me professionally and warmly, he gave great information about the activities like Safaris and the area, very helpful. In addition to the kindness of the staff I would like to sincerely thank the Chef, his touch with breakfast, his talented cooking style with the lunches that he prepared for me was absolutely delicious. The chef has a devotion and it is demonstrated inside his food style, special mention to him. I had a pleasant stay and will recommend that hotel.

Our family came from the US to Sri Lanka and chose Serenity Tissa as the hotel we would stay at. Overall, it exceeded our expectations! The manager, Santa, was very hospitable and went out of his way to help us enjoy our stay. We felt very satisfied with the overall environment of the hotel and didn't hesitate to reach out to him or any other staff members if we needed anything. He prepared breakfast and dinner for us on both days while we were there. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, and we couldn't be happier! Overall, a 10 out of 10!

I was ill during my stay. The staff were amazing. The owner organized a doctors visit for me, and picked up prescription medication. He also organized food that would suit my delicate stomach while I recovered. I cannot thank them. Close to restaurants, ATM, and supermarket. Nice pool.

Great location for those doing a safari. The pool is lovely after a long morning. The staff are so kind and helpful. A small thing, but after a few weeks travelling Sri Lanka, having lots of plugs was really helpful! Breakfast was also excellent.

Perfect stay for two nights. The room was clean and comfortable. Swimming pool and hard was great for relaxing after a safari.

One of the closest location near to the national park. The family running the hotel is very hospitable. The tour they offer is reasonably priced and the driver very capable.

Owner and staff are very helpfull and friendly,
The room was clean and contained all that was advertised. They made me a go-to breakfast for the safari. They have bicycles for rent so you go around the lakes (except lake Tissa). They have a parking and a enormous good breakfast.
My garden view was more on drive lane, but who’s going to sit inside to watch outside.

It was one of the best stays in SL. It’s close to shops and an easy drive to Yala NP . The staff are wonderful. The pool looks amazing but unfortunately we didn’t have time to use it. We had dinner there and it was delicious. Great showers too.

Exceptional service from the manager - Shantha. Nothing was too much trouble - on the first evening he took us on a tuk tuk ride to see sunset and bats flying over a nearby lake, and he organised a series of excellent trips into the national parks. (The packed breakfasts that he sent in these could have kept us going all day). The hotel was spotless with an excellent pool - a really excellent stay.
Only very minor point is that wifi coverage was patchy but really not a big issue.

Spotless swimming pool which was nice in the heat of Tissa. Location close to both lakes to see the bats and sunset and close to Smoky Kitchen restaurant. Also breakfast was great. Shantha is a great guy who makes you feel at home right away. He gave me a private tour around the lakes and dropped me off at the bus station for my onward journey.

Big hotel layout with plenty of relaxing space. Pool was good. Nice hotel is a strange location. The local restaurant- smokey kitchen down the road is the only real option and worth while. The hotel was very generous offering the facilities post checkout upon return from safari at 11am. 1 night was fine.
If you have a driver then location is OK, albeit no town to talk of. The safari is a bit of the rort, albeit not booked by hotel (which I think disappointed them). I dont understand the pricing. Also the 4am wake up is pointless. Because the park gate doesn't open till 6am.
