Clean rooms, a beautiful garden, and a picturesque, peaceful location. The host helped us organize a safari trip, served a delicious dinner, fruit cocktails, and ice cream despite our late check-in. The next morning, we were welcomed with tea and breakfast for our journey to Yala National Park. Thank you for everything — we highly recommend this place.

The lake across the hotel was very nice. Good area but a lot of other options..
i’m deeply disappointment with my stay at this hotel. I didn’t say anything in person because the staff member we dealt with made me feel uncomfortable and I was afraid he would speak to me in an aggressive way.
Throughout our stay, he was rude and disrespectful. When I asked for toilet paper, he rolled his eyes and said, “We gave you a roll yesterday,” even though it was only half a roll for two people. When I thanked him politely, he responded, “Why do you have to smile all the time? Take it and stop,” which made me feel shocked and uncomfortable.
When we calmly asked why we were charged an extra 1500 LKR per person for the safari compared to others in our jeep, he was again dismissive and demeaning. To make things worse, as we were leaving and getting into our taxi, he spoke badly about us to the driver, calling us cheap for pointing out the price difference.
Yesterday, when my friend walked into the hotel after being out in the rain, some dirt was tracked in, which was unavoidable because of the weather. Instead of handling it professionally, he called her “disgusting” and said, “What is wrong with people.” No guest should ever be spoken to this way.
There was also mold on the bathroom ceiling and holes in the mosquito net above the bed. (as pictured). Ants crawling everywhere on the floor and on the bed as well.
I travel very often and have never experienced treatment like this from hotel staff. I hope others see this and choose to stay somewhere they will be treated with respect.

The surroundings are lovely and serene, the beds are decent, and the rooms are quite lovely and roomy. Additionally, the food is the greatest we've ever had in Sri Lanka! They also booked a safari for us, and we had the best time at a lower cost than all the other websites. You may definitely check out this hotel!

Sameera was an amazing host; he showed me the lake at sunset so I could see wildlife, and then we looked for owls. Situated directly in front of the lake, the villa is a pleasant place to stay. I highly recommend this place because he was very helpful and dropped me off in town multiple times.

A lovely property with a view of the lake. Lots of birdlife in and around the property. A short but pretty distance to town, easily done by foot, bike or vehicle.
Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable with aircon, fan hot water and mosquito nets.
Breakfast was delicious and large. Coconut pancakes were fabulous.
Our host was attentive and helpful.

Location, very close to the lake, quiet and peaceful. Large property with very pleasant and spacious areas for eating and relaxing. The 2 brothers were most welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was amazing and so well presented. We were taken to see the bats in the evening at no cost to us. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short due to altered plans. We would not hesitate to stay at Hotel Bjrds View again.
That we were only able to stay one night there.

Run by two lovely, kind, helpful & welcoming brothers, Samira & Indiga & tucked away outside of Tissa amidst a verdant garden. Delicious & plentiful SriLankan breakfast is included. Our room had a fan & aircon & good shower in the bathroom. Great communal balcony. Enjoyable trip to Yala arranged for us. Trees full of fruit bats about 15 mins walk. Loads of birdlife around.

Access to the beach and the chance to see turtles was great!

It doesn’t get better than this! What a peaceful place to stay. Our hosts were charming, helpful and the food very generous and varied. We really looked forward to dinner time! The whole hotel is scrupulously clean and maintained to the highest of standards. We believe our tuk tuk driver was a relative who was charming , very helpful and drove carefully We didn’t want to leave! Thank you for making our four nights with you so special. It’s deep in nature but only a short tuk tuk ride to the town. The best of both worlds!

We really recommend you to choose this place in Tissa because of many reasons: the owners are nice and very helpful, they welcome you with a drink and gave us also coconut water 'cause we asked for It. The surrounding area is incredible peaceful, quiete and with a great nature. From the terrase you can see a lake and the beautiful garden that surrounds the house. It Is such a relaxing place!!!!!

The hotel is situated along the lake so it’s completely inside the nature. It’s a very quiet location and they can arrange a safari for you. The hosts are extremely kind: they gave us welcome drinks, a free ride to see the bat ? trees and a coconut after the safari!
As I said the location is inside the nature, so if you want to go somewhere else to eat you have to go with a tuktuk. For us that wasn’t a problem because we had a really good dinner at the hotel.

Our room and the accommodation exceeded our expectations..... Everyone visiting Sri Lanka should stay here. Why? I hear you ask. Located only slightly out of town, it is surrounded by trees and birds, with magnificent views across the lake and beyond. Outside there is a lovely wide walk on the embankment along the lake. Our hosts, who are brothers, greeted us with a long cool drink when we arrived and are lovely people. The breakfast was exceptionally good. And the accommodation was spotless, of course. The open verandah for meals and breakfast was the perfect location and caught the breeze. When we needed to find something from the shops, they were happy to guide us until we found it and negotiated the local price.
Very good value for money.
Memories for life were made from our stay.
