My wife and I stayed here for two nights. The location is great, right next to Yala National Park. The huts are hand-built, made of clay, living in them is a unique experience. The host is very kind and friendly, helps in any way he can, we are very grateful to him for that and are glad that we met! ? The host also prepared some delicious traditional food for us. He will also help with organizing a safari, and can take you around the area himself and tell you interesting stories!

Good
The owner and the family were all very nice. They gave us a walking tour around the house. The surrounding nature was very beautiful. Also, the owner was nice enough to give us medicine for cold. The daughter spoke good Japanese.
The door of the room needed to be fixed. We had hard times opening and closing it. There was no hot water to shower. We should have checked it beforehand. It is understandable, as it is close to the National Park. However, for the price we paid, we expected that there would be hot water to shower.

Very nice if you are looking for “Off from city life”.
The staff and the owner Priyanta are extremely friendly and helpful.
Name boards should have been placed as fhr location is inside the Jungle.

This was a very authentic safari experience and a must do to those a little more adventurous. The host was great and greeted us with a refreshing drink on arrival, and a concert in the evening. His son was really nice too and chatted to us during meals. The rooms are simple and clean.
The road is unsuitable for small cars

Very Good
Such a friendly owner and staff - cooked us dinner which was yummy and then played the drums and sang local music with us which was such an amazing experience. The property is set in nature and feels authentic and super close to yala entrance.
Nothing! There are a few bugs around including in the room but that is expected with a rural property like this. Just to be aware if you don’t like bugs!

We really enjoyed our stay there, it's basic but we had everything we needed. The surrounding area was very nice and clean. The staff was very helpful. Dinner was really amazing. We got useful information and good recommendation for beach area to go - we went to Goyambokka and really enjoyed it.

Where do I begin. Prinyantha, the owner and his beautiful family, looked after us so well. He took us into town for a tour of the Buddist Temple and then back to his authentic environmental wonderland. The dinner was exceptional, and after dinner, he drummed to some tunes and made us laugh and have the best time. He organised our driver for the Safari and our transfers to Mirissa Tue the next day but not before a delicious lunch after our safari. His wife's fish curry was by far the best we've eaten in Sri Lanka. This experience would cost us a fortune at one of the zoos in Australia. If you love nature, this place is for you ♥️

Host picked me up from Tissa and was very welcoming. I was taken on a walking and motorcycle tour at dusk where I saw an elephant and a crocodile! I was kindly introduced to the host’s family and enjoyed tea with them. I would highly recommend the dinner of tuna curry, potato curry and side dishes.
The accommodation was very cute, clean and I felt the full jungle experience.
The hotel also kindly organised the safari tour which was incredible, I even saw a leopard.
There is also a very friendly dog at the house who is so sweet !!

We had an unforgettable two-night stay at Yala Wild House, and I can't recommend it enough! The accommodation is perfectly nestled in the heart of nature, offering an immersive jungle experience. The wildlife here is abundant, with vibrant birds all around and the stunning starry skies at night—a true paradise for nature lovers.
The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making for a peaceful retreat after a day of exploration. What really made our stay exceptional, though, was the owner. He is the most welcoming, kind-hearted person you'll ever meet, and his passion for Yala National Park shines through in everything he does. He went out of his way to make us feel at home, even helping us arrange a safari at a very reasonable price.
The food was another highlight. The family serves up traditional Sri Lankan dishes that are both flavorful and satisfying. Every meal was a delight!
If you're looking for a genuine, off-the-beaten-path experience in Yala, Yala Wild House is the place to stay. The combination of great hospitality, incredible surroundings, and delicious food makes it a truly special spot. Highly recommended!

Lovely family run buisness! Super friendly/ helpful host and amazing food!
The whole place is alive with birds, absolutely recommended. It's situated very close to yala national park and jeep tours can be arranged. Go and stay there, if you are not afraid of the odd frog in the bathroom or gecko at the wall.
Also two v cute dogs!

Wonderful
This is a beautiful place. It reflects the energy and imagination of the owners. These guys really know how to cook and the food is excellent. They worked very hard to make sure that I was happy.
It's really important to know that this is a VERY basic accommodation. You have electricity for a couple of hours each day. There is no hot water or wifi. Bats, etc. can get into you room at night. Mosquito nets are there to offer some protection.
There is not a lot to do at Yala Wild Camp so bring friends so you can hang out together. I am a solo traveler and there were no other guests. The price is also very high for what they offer.
