Wonderful
We like the location, which is between Gregory lake and town center. both ways are walkable. The room is nice and comfortable with balcony. WiFi was fast. The staff was nice and helped with carrying our luggage when we arrived and checked out.
We were charged for the bottled water refill. We were not told the water refill wasn’t free. We just don’t understand that a such nice place cares about water refills for a very little cost.

This was one of my favorite breakfast meals I had during my stay. I got the pancakes and they were delicious! The shower was hot with good water pressure. The location was convenient and walkable to multiple points of interest like the botanical gardens, post office, and lake.
Breakfast was included in our stay, but when we asked for a second cup of coffee at breakfast we were charged for it. None of the other places did this. We are used to drinking much more coffee at home than the size typically served in Sri Lanka.

Girard and all of the staff was great. We enjoyed the cooking class and appreciated his and the cooks patience as we are a bit clumsy in the kitchen. It was a great stay.
Nothing.

Excellent accommodation, with comfortable bedrooms and nice showers. The photos don’t do it justice! Lovely coffee shop within the hotel, and we had a great espresso-based coffee and a carrot cake which was delicious. Fully recommend and wish we had stayed longer!

Hot water- yes. Water pressure -excellent. Beds & pillows- comfortable and firm. But the real beauty of Suriya is the people who work there and the warm community they have created. Folks come in as customers and leave as friends. Suriya does not promote the use of plastics. All water comes in refillable glass bottles, and the restaurant food is locally sourced from small farms. In order to cut down on food waste they do request hotel guests to pre-order their next meal which is very easy to do. We ate all of our meals there since the food is that good. There is an Ayurvedic Coffee shop attached to the hotel which is quite popular. Foreign travelers were arriving everyday for coffee, pancakes, and pastries. My husband enjoyed a slice of their pumpkin cake with Tahini and I loved their cinnamon roll. Those delights and coffee were sublime. Meals may be eaten indoors, under the porte cochère, or under the large umbrellas in the flower garden. I could continue this review about the goodness of Suriya, but really, just go ahead and book your reservation now.

Everything! Suriya Guest is in a perfect location, beautifully appointed with all the amenities one could want, and run by a highly professional team which is as kind and accommodating as it is efficient. Far exceeded my expectations in so many ways -- delicious food, comfortable bed, fabulous hot shower, gorgeous views from my room, great communication, a breathtakingly well-maintained garden, I truly could not have asked for more. And very reasonably priced, too.
Nothing at all. I will definitely be back. Many thanks to Gerard, Jani, Ranjan and the whole staff!

stuff are extremely friendly and helpful. they know how to make you fill at home. there are few sitting areas so it was nice to relax on one of them.
I had the upstairs room it has a great view but no wi.fi
my room did not have wi fi but I knew it when I took it (I preferred the view and decided to manage without wi. fi.) other rooms have wi fi
there is a restaurant in the hotel but if you want a grocery store or other restaurants they are a bit far away(about 15 minutes walk)

Wonderful
The behavior of the staff. Mr Suriya is very helpful and accommodating. The courtyard is really superb. The sitting area as well as fire place are bonus at staying at this property.
The size of the room could have been little bigger so that unpacking of luggage would not be a headache. The can put appropriate size table or something to pack / unpack two luggage.

Everything about this establishment is first rate. The owners have considered your every need with a well stocked mini bar, double sinks, plenty of storage and towels and fab comfy beds. Our room had a large balcony and a colour TV which enabled us to watch the Nitto finals. Breakfast was included in our rate and it was generous and delicious.

One of the best experiences I have had in all my travels. The hotel is in a great location. The staff is friendly, polite, and experienced. The hotel has a great atmosphere. It is clean, stylish, and has free bicycles. There is a great breakfast with a variety of breads. They keep asking if there is anything missing. They are very kind. If I come to Nur Eliya again, I will definitely stay only at this hotel.

This hotel is perfectt, and everything meets high standards. We loved the spotless rooms and enjoyed the best shower we’ve had in Sri Lanka (finally, proper hot water!). The staff are extremely friendly and speak English very well.
By far, this was our best stay in Sri Lanka.

The bed was the most comfortable in Sri Lanka so far. The staff were lovely. So helpful and knowledgeable. The location is great, right in the middle of Nuwara Eliya overlooking the racecourse. While we were there, there was cricket, football kabaddi and horse riding inside the racecourse. The breakfast was delicious and varied. Go for the English (spoiler alert there's no bacon or baked beans!). You won't regret it!
We didn't get to use the yoga room which looked lovely!! It was open for all but we didn't have time ?

Very Good
The place was very clean and comfortable, breakfast was also very good. I read the comments about this property and I was very hipped about it, and i think for the price, I expected a bit more. It’s a good place but maybe my experience was a bit different. Cash only property and dinner needs to be order before 17:30 if you want to have dinner there.
It’s not super central and there’s not many restaurants around. You’ll have to walk like 15 min or so and that’s fine but not so great when it’s raining!
