This has been my favorite lodging in the 3 weeks I've been in Sri Lanka. The view is incredible. It is outside of the main area so it is peaceful and scenic. The distance might be a bit much for travelers without a car, but we rented a car so it was perfect. And parking was ample. The staff are super nice and friendly. The room is huge and very comfortable. Breakfast was simple but good. We felt so good staying here we booked for an extra two nights. I am going to be sad leaving.
These are just minor things but I would have liked more light in the room and a stronger Wi-Fi. It was near impossible to watch ICC World Cup with the buffering.

The host accommodated me even at odd hours in the night and made sure we were comfortable and settled once at the property

I absolutely loved Cottage San Francesco. I had only booked for one night and extended my stay because of how much I enjoyed it. I spent quite a long time researching hotels in the area before booking this one, but genuinely don’t waste your time looking elsewhere and get this one booked - it is wonderful!
The beds are so premium and luxurious and comfortable that getting out of them to go and see NE was very difficult indeed! But the excellent breakfast and warm smiles of the people working there made it a bit easier to finally get out of bed! Everything in the room was super clean and comfortable and my mountain views were outstanding.
The hosts are so so kind and extremely helpful. Every question I asked was met with quick and informative answers. They even checked in during the day to check I was doing ok and having a good time.
I read some comments that mentioned the location being a little far out, but actually for visiting the nicest tea plantations (Damro and Blueview) it is very well placed. It is also not too far from the town at all and the location means that it benefits from the amazing views that it has.
Will only stay here when I return to the area.

Had a very good time in Cottage San francesco. Without a doubt the best stay of our Sri Lanka trip. Special thanks to the Asitha and his team who made the stay memorable. A big shout out to Sandishkar who was available for every request. The rooms were spacious and clean. The property is well maintained with a fantastic view of the valley. The breakfast was excellent with a wide spread. We also had dinner which was freshly prepared and served. Overall a very serene, peaceful stay. Would highly recommend this stay if you visit Nuwara Eliya. Excellent property, Great food! Great Service and Fantastic people! All the best!

We had a very good stay at Cottage San Francesco! The room was very beautiful, big comfortable bed, amazing view from the balcony, and a lot space!! The staff was also very kind, helpful and friendly! We stayed here for two nights and we got different breakfast served for the two days. The breakfast was completely fine and definitely enough! It is somewhat out of the city, so your own tuktuk is very useful, or uber/taxi/pickme would be great to use!

The cottage was nice and view was very pretty, however we were served rotten bread at breakfast. The staff were nice but felt they need more training so that such things do not happen again. Other than that all was good.

The room exceeded our expectations! So comfy, cozy and beautiful. Great views, very comfortable bed, nice bathroom. We ordered a taxi to take us to the city centre - it was only a ten minute ride. Hope to be back one day.
Wish the breakfast would have been more nutritious. Otherwise everything was great.

Stunning room with lovely views. Staff couldn’t be more helpful. Bed is really comfortable
It’s out the way of the busy Nuwara centre with lovely views of all the tea plantations and hills.
We didn’t fancy going out in the night time so the staff provided us with lots of different options to eat in the hotel which was perfect for us.
Big thank you to the lovely lady who carried around 6 courses of food up and down the stairs to breakfast!

Property is well maintained and beautiful. Views from Balcony are amazing. Host guided us places to visit around and his suggestions really helped us explore the place. We travelled with toddler and we host was very kind to provide milk and as well packaged lunch. Host son Alexander was fun and my son had good time playing with him. I enjoyed the place because of great hospitality.

Everything. It’s like staying in a European chalet. A real change in Sri Lanka at over 6,000 ft., was a little cool in the evenings, but delightful. The owner is a very nice guy who lived in Italy for a few years, thus the name. Hotel is very clean, price is very reasonable and perched on a hill with a magnificent view. Highly recommend!

Swiss chalet style guest house with fabulous views over tea and vegetable plantations. Large room with huge bed and modern ensuite. Friendly helpful staff. Plus huge tasty breakfast. Its 10 mins or so to town in a tuk tuk.
Nothing really. If i was being super picky and this is more to assist owner, a comfy chair in the room would be great to look at the view and a storage cupboard in the bathroom for toiletries.

The whole journey at the cottage San Francesco was wonderful. The breakfast is exceptional and there was a huge variety of food. The staff (especially the owner) is very kind and helpful for suggesting you the best activities to do in Nuwara Eliya. Highly recommended.
Just a tiny detail to keep in mind. The location is a bit outside from the city center, but still for us the view was outstanding

We loved our stay at Cottage San Francesco. It's a short tuk-tuk ride away from town which means Nuwara Eliya is very accessible yet you get to enjoy the quiet and solitude of being in the hills. With spectacular views of tea plantations and the valley, the hotel is comfortable and peaceful. We also slept so well here in the big, cozy beds with nice thick blankets. The San Francesco team also made our stay enjoyable by providing recommendations, helping to organize transportation, and generally going above and beyond. If we're lucky we'll be back here one day!
Only thing that could be improved in my opinion is some comfortable outdoor seating for watching the beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the property
