Alanka was a very attentive host. He offered us airport transfer and transport down south at fairly competitve rates which made life easy for us. We stayed soon after the folloding so the property was not at its best, but it was still very comfortable, and super convenient and cheap place to stay on the way to and from the airport. The breakfast was fantastic.

I really appreciated that the host provided all the details about the facilities, the concept of the accommodation, the size of the room, air conditioning, etc., in advance — and also gave us the option to cancel for free if this type of accommodation didn’t suit us. That way, there were no surprises.
There was nothing negative about the stay itself. The only thing I was a bit skeptical about was what the owner told me — that we should leave a good review because he needs to maintain a 9.6 rating to stay visible in Booking’s search results. I don’t think that’s true, and I generally don’t like when someone asks for positive reviews that way.
Nevertheless, I was satisfied with the accommodation and don’t think this is a reason to lower my rating.

the host was trying to communicate with us through whatsapp on the day. As we were on the transit from Mel to Singapore and then to KL and Colombo, we did not have any internet access and did not reply their message.The hotel cancel my reservation and shut the gate even though the booking was confirmed way before the arrival date and time of arrival given.It's fortunate that when the taxi driver rang the bell and the hotel still honour our booking.

Hi, we were able to relax on our first night after being picked up from the airport. Alanka helped us with our luggage, and any questions we had.
We had a fantastic breakfast, and an enjoyable day being shown around.

This is an ideal place to go back to the airport. Very kind people, they provide food and shuttle. Basic room, but very clean. The owner does the shuttle service, in the middle of the night if needed.

Chill vibes and very friendly! I came very late and they were very accommodating. I opted to get my own way there as it was slightly cheaper but they helped every step of the way. Recommend getting a pick up from them if you're after less stress.
Hard to say i didn't like anything, I wasn't sure how to get out of the property to go for a walk but preferred the security and likely missed the instructions due to my late arrival.

The host, Alanka, was very helpful picking us up from a 3am arrival flight with a smile even though we had to wait over an hour for the luggage to arrive. Lovely Sri Lankan breakfast provided by his family at this Homestay just enough to get a few hours sleep for a very reasonable price and he drove us to our next destination providing interesting information en route.

Alanka and his wife made us feel extremely welcome in their home which was only a short 10-15 min drive from the airport. Making it perfect when you arrive late at night as we did. The owner will offer to pick you up from the airport for a fee if you choose. We chose to use PickMe. I loved being g offered a pot of tea when we arrived at 11 pm.
Our room was big, and the beds comfortable with mosquito nets. We went with a room with just a fan (no AC) and this was fine for us. We even needed to use the beautiful cotton blankets provided. Our breakfast was large with fresh juice and a mixture of delicious Sri Lankan foods as well as toast, eggs, butter and jam
Alanka, the owner, who speaks excellent English, also works as a tour guide. When we arrived we were able to arrange transport in his air conditioned van to get to Sigiriya. Instead of going just directly to Sigiriya he proposed a tour of some of the main sites of Anuradhapura- the ancient Buddhist city. It was brilliant. He was so knowledgeable about Buddhist culture having studied this at a special school for Buddhism. Along the way we stopped to see birds, a Hindu temple, and he bought us guava, a king coconut to drink and eat, as well as lunch /snack from a government funded restaurant run by women to help them earn money. After Anuradhapura we went to Mintale to view the sunset at a hilltop Buddhist temple. The views were other worldly. Finally we arrived at 8pm in Sigiriya where we had Sri Lankan dinner at a restaurant recommended by Alanka, before he dropped us at our accommodation which was out of town. It was a very long day (11 hours) but a memorable experience. We would highly recommend him as a guide, you can learn so much talking with him about Sri Lankan life, it’s people and culture. A brilliant experience, highly recommend.
