Staff are generally nice but not the most helpful - I sent a number of emails with same question before arrival and was ignored (this is across a whole month before). On arrival no information provided about food, facilities, where anything is. You have to ask the basic questions. They did allow us to stay in our same room for two nights which were booked separate for ease (we booked one ourselves and one night was booked as part of a tour,) however, after day 1 told us we must check out so we had to remind them and then they said sorry it was their mistake. 5 minutes later they come back and say ok but you must pay for food costs for night one now and two women followed me to my room to pay. Felt like I was being treated like a thief. The women were nice and apologetic but said their manager said we needed to do it. Made me feel targeted and embarassed to be honest. Then when we did check out, they tried to charge us again for these days expenses. Luckily I had kept the card machine receipt to prove we already paid. Bad organisation and hotel Management overall. Hotel is nice layout but needs refurb, our sink was dangling downwards off the wall and their kettle wasn't even same socket as on their wall so couldn't be used. Quite a few sunbeds are damaged. Breakfast food was good buffet choices especially being vegetarians, but lunch and dinner menus not great and food quality is average. The attached spa is very nice with friendly staff, good service and good prices and I would recommend using that if you do stay. Wifi signal is good around hotel.

Location
Unfortunately, our stay was affected by several issues. There was a persistent sewage smell in the hotel, which made it quite uncomfortable. In addition, the electric kettle in the room did not work, despite our attempts to use it. Another concern was the very loud music playing until the evening, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy a quiet stay. Overall, these issues significantly impacted our experience.

It is beach front and has two nice pools. Not crowded.
The room advertised on site was not the Room they gave us when complained of the out dated room they said we could move to another more modern room at an increased rate. We did and the air conditioning was not working properly Luckily there was a good breeze so we just opened the balcony door and cooled the room down

it is a DECENT hotel to stay at.the rooms are clean .The staff are good and help full. .pool area is spacious and clean. Breakfast buffet is good with a variety of Foods.. We. have got no complains.If u book thru a booking app,u will get a room in the old part of the hotel.
Give the beach a big miss,there is rubbish and plastic every where.It is BAD.

Well maintain property, exceptional room and the pool are amazing. Staff is very helpful et friendly.
The charge for late check out is outrageous. The hotel had very low occupancy and they wanted to charge 40$usd for 4 hours.

The location is excellent and the staff is even more! Best advice: have your first nights and last nights at Camelot, and then take your trip around Sri Lanka in between. Promise, you won't regret it!! And the TOP STAFF for me!: JENNY, HIRUNI, KOKILA, SUBUN. (Sorry, I know I forgot more of you, wonderful people!! Thank you all - I will come back!!!

Nice Stay with Room for Improvement The location of the hotel is very good, and the rooms are clean and nicely designed. The pool areas are great and well maintained. The beach is directly in front of the hotel – it’s a public beach, so it’s not the cleanest, but it has a lively atmosphere. Overall, the experience was pleasant, but the service could be improved. While there are many staff members, unfortunately, not all seem well trained or aware of their responsibilities. This occasionally led to confusion and delays. A point of concern: room keys were handed out to other guests without proper verification, which raises some questions regarding security and guest privacy. This is something that definitely needs attention from management. Still, the hotel has potential and a lot of nice features – with some improvements in service and staff training, it could be a much better experience.
