Great location, good food, and extraordinarily helpful staff.
No hot water but that is not a surprise. Would be a bonus if it was incorporated.

The staff were amazing and attentive the whole time. The food was delicious and they made sure you had plenty. They were so knowledgeable and the place was so cute. They even had Sri Lankan dancers perform. We went on a safari as well and it was an amazing experience.

This accommodation was exactly what we had hoped it would be for our stay and safari in Yala National Park. It is in the buffer zone, and we were treated to a nature walk upon arrival where we encountered an elephant. Our guide, Nishantha, made sure we were safe and educated us along the way so we could truly appreciate the natural setting. Every staff member worked hard to ensure our stay was excellent. If you are looking for an authentic safari camp-style stay right next to Yala National Park, you will not be disappointed.

Can’t recommend this camp enough!
When we booked this place, we knew we were signing up for a unique experience, but the reality truly exceeded all expectations. This was definitely one of the highlights of our two-week tour of Sri Lanka.
I really dislike bugs and I’m also afraid of some of them, so knowing that the rooms are partially open made me quite nervous before our stay. If you’re like me, let me reassure you: there’s absolutely no need to worry.
- one of the cleanest rooms I’ve ever slept in
- the staff prepares your room in the evening for the night, ensuring that animals and insects stay away. Sure, you’re in the middle of nature — but nature doesn’t necessarily want to interact with you ?
- every single member of the staff is extremely attentive, helpful, welcoming, and kind. They are always available and genuinely making sure everyone is having a great time
- the design is truly beautiful, everything is perfectly maintained, and there are countless small details throughout — you can really feel the effort and love that went into creating this place
- they don’t just preserve and protect the environment, they actively improve it — their mission is real and goes far beyond the "hotel" project
And don’t miss the bush walk with Nishantha: he’s one of the most knowledgeable people I’ve ever met, and it was an absolute privilege to learn from him.
If you have the possibility, do yourselves a favor and include this experience in your trip — you’ll come out of it richer than you think.

Wonderful
Lovely Eco lodge very close to the Yala Safari park entrance. We loved the rooms, a semi open jungle cabin, it was simple but felt luxurious. We had a lot of interaction with Saji and he was professional and very helpful and had a great sense of humour, he was a credit to your team. The pool was a great addition and we loved the traditional dancing after dinner. We had an amazing safari experience and saw loads of wildlife including 2 leopards and 2 cubs.

Unique concept and very beautiful nature and people to look after.
Everyone very attentive and they inform you well in advance about what you might encounter. If you’re a creature of comfort you may not enjoy the night sounds but that’s exactly the reason why we booked: to experience the nature in its wonder.
We are grateful to Amal and Hasitha for their attentiveness with our daughter and their hard work they out to make it special for every guest.
Only regret is to leave

The Safari Camp Yakadura is a true gem. Our stay there exceeded every expectation. The small hut, the room, and the bathroom were all beautifully designed and incredibly comfortable. The food was delicious, and even our special requests were met every single day without hesitation.
What truly made the stay unforgettable, however, were the staff. With remarkable dedication, they care for every guest’s needs. In particular, Nishantha goes above and beyond to make this place a once-in-a-lifetime experience. His sensitivity and deep knowledge of nature are a true asset to the camp and enrich the entire stay.

From the moment we arrived until the day we left, the staff was absolutely incredible—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We spent three unforgettable days here and felt completely embraced, as if we were part of a big, beautiful family.
Our stay began with a personal tour of the grounds, where we were guided through the lush surroundings with detailed explanations of the local flora and fauna. It was both educational and magical. The accommodations were immaculate—clean, cozy, and thoughtfully arranged.
✨ Highlights of our trip included the Moonshine Tour, a hands-on cooking class, and meals that captured the true essence of Sri Lankan cuisine. Each experience was memorable and authentic.
If you're looking to escape mass tourism and instead immerse yourself in nature, adventure, and meaningful connections—this is your place. Yakadura is perfect for anyone who wants to expand their appreciation of this country’s breathtaking environment and be looked after by an exceptional team.
Many thanks to the entire Yakadura crew—you’re amazing. Keep doing what you do so well!

It was a magnificent experience not only because we saw so much nature and wild animals at a close range but because the staff were the best. Nishantha took us to see a local woman who was so poor yet she used whatever means she had to look after 22 orphaned puppies whose mother had been killed. The level of poverty was astounding. The staff help her to survive. Without them there would be certain death. If you can spare some money please give it to him and he will pass it on. A truly humbling and touching experience that jolts you to the core. Special mention to our mates at Yala who made our stay so memorable Sajith, Kasun, Nishantha and our safari driver Amile. Thanks guys, you are the best!
Not much we didn't like except shower water could have been warmer and tissues in the room. But seriously, we had the best time and our safari driver Amila was a super hero tracking down animals for us to see from 5am till 4 pm. What a guy!
