This was a nicely designed hotel, with spacious rooms. Conveniently located for Yala safari pickups. There was even a peacock to greet us every morning outside our balcony!
Though the room was mostly clean, there were some stains on our sheets. The friendly staff quickly rectified this. When we had to leave early for our safari, there was no staff available on site to unlock the gate and we had to do a real life jailbreak from the hotel! Also the water is reliant on solar so you may have to have a cold shower on a cloudy/rainy day.

Wonderful
While I was a very, very late and unexpected booking (I only booked 15 minutes before arriving at the property), the staff jumped into action upon my arrival. After cranking up the generator (Sri Lanka was suffering from enforced power cuts), my air-conditioned room was offered up in a matter of minutes. This was indicative of my stay with staff being friendly, responsive and eager to please (they also organised an all-day private safari at Yala National Park for me). My room was spacious, and my breakfasts and dinners were tasty and filling.
While my meals were tasty, they were served in an open-air dining room that was a beacon for all sorts of insects. This did dampen my dining experience. The dining room also seemed to be the only space in the property to have a wi-fi signal, so a double whammy for keeping connected with the outside world. Luckily, the great staff made up for these two issues.

Nice place with nice people. I believe that the stay would have been much better if they had electricity, But thats the governments fault, not the hotel.
They could have said something on their page about the situation in the country, and also that they cannot afford to refill the generators. This was a very hot place, and with no working AC, it was very expensive stay compared to what we expected from a nice place like this.

Beautiful property, with nice, clean and newly furnished rooms. The location is a bit off road, so it is very peaceful and calm. We enjoyed our stay here.
The pool is nice, however, there were no sunbeds, so it wasn't that comfortable to relax by the pool. Also there was no wifi in the rooms. It was working well only around the reception.

Pool not yet clean, no restaurants, cocktails / drinks as shown on the pictures. Hope will change in the future
