Lovely option for Safari, staff understand tourists needs but also keep things feeling local and authentic. A great location in the Yala National Park that makes you feel as though you are really part of the surroundings, monkeys jumping in the trees above the cabins, a great selection of unique birds to spot from the hammock and even some water buffalo walking past the gate. The jeep drivers for Riverbank know the routes well, and ensure you have only a 10 minute drive to the entrance - a blessing at 5am - and that you also are first inline, through the park in the morning so even though there are other jeeps around you feel a sense of tranquility. We wanted to see a leopard and got very lucky, it walked right next to our jeep, and we were in prime position. When we stopped to eat breakfast, after a few hours out driving in the park, our driver picked a great location to stop with a wonderful view and the breakfast was extremely yummy - coffee, sandwiches (one of the best I have ever eaten), also with fruit and yoghurt - a really nice touch when you have gotten up early, start feeling hungry and the sun has risen. Our guide was also really knowledgeable about the park and animals and had studied Zoology, and his English was easy to understand. The dinner in the evening, under the stars was organised and served well and they lit a fire which added to the ambience.
Everything was really lovely. Maybe dinner is a little on the expensive side, as it is included in the price and there is no alternative because you are in the park, so perhaps something other than Kotthu for a main, such as a more unique Sri Lankan dish would be nice, or having that as well as a devilled meat dish would be good. But otherwise - no complaints at all with the food, the portions were generous and the dining experience lovely, it was a 3 course meal and the soup as a starter was a great touch.

Ruwan was a terrific host and the food was stunning! The camp itself is very hospitable and the location was as perfect as possible (on the edge of the National Park). We spent a lovely time relaxing in the hammocks between safaris with the monkeys jumping around in the trees. The safaris were top notch, I've done a few tours but nothing has compared to Mr Earl's knowledge and commitment to showing us the best of the park! We saw SO much including the elusive leopard. Value for money and just can't say enough good things about it!
We should have stayed longer!! The roads in the National Park need a bit of work but that isn't the problem of Camp Leopard.

I cannot recommend Camp Leopard enough. Ruwan went above and beyond to ensure I felt welcome and safe as a young female solo traveller. Food was gorgeous and the setting was so relaxing. I only stayed one night but so wished I had booked longer. Nikki was a fantastic guide & even though we didn’t see any leopards we still had a great time! Thank you thank you thank you!

Very Good
Lovely spot in Yala, staff are very attentive and nice, happy to help with everything. Tents are very comfortable. Safari was fun, although unfortunately we did not see a leopard, we did see many other animals and birds.

We had an amazing time at the camp. Staff was incredibly welcoming and helped a lot already with planning the whole trip, including arranging pickup and drop off after the stay and arranging a safari day trip. They were very flexible especially regarding our kids wishes and changes in plan from our side. We all loved it and will definitely come back again.

Wonderful
Wonderful staff who went above and beyond to make us feel special. Right from the hot towels and welcome drink when we arrived, to dropping us in Kataragama and making sure we got on the right bus to our next destination. Tasteful plastic-free accommodation. Good shower and air conditioning in the tent. Amazing food and plenty of it (although I would have been happy to have half as much and pay less). Particular shout out to the chef who was incredibly sensitive to my husband’s dietary needs as a Type 1 diabetic. And of course the safaris were great - Mr Earl was a wonderful guide who showed us so much.
I personally would prefer no music and no fire during dinner as for me the natural jungle sounds and clean air would be preferable. But I appreciate that other guests might enjoy the music. Maybe ask people? While it was certainly a VIP experience, compared with what we have paid everywhere else in Sri Lanka, it really is extremely expensive.

The attention from the staff. The game drives were most enjoyable including the leopard sighting and the bird life prolific. The tented accommodation gave a very authentic feel to the camp. The food was excellent & they catered consciously for my daughter who is celiac.
Nothing.

Wonderful
We stayed one night at Camp Leopard Yala. On our day of arrival we went on an evening safari; the next morning we went on a morning safari starting at 05:30am. The driving time from the camp to the entrances of the park sectors we saw was around 30 minutes. Both tours were organised by Camp Leopard. We saw various animals, such as elephants, crocodiles, deers, different type of bird, monkeys and even bears from a distance that are very rare in the park. Unfortunately, no leopard gave us the courtesy of showing up;-) Our safari guide Noyel and our driver (sorry , forgot his name) gave their best, but it shouldn’t happen. Drinks, coffee/tea break and breakfast were nicely prepared and provided during the safaris. After the safaris nice juices were offered too. Our glamping tent at Leopard Camp was very clean and cosy; air condition and shower worked all properly. It was lovely to have coffee and tea served on our terrace. We booked dinner in the camp which was set up romantically outdoors with campfire. We were served different Sri Lankan dishes that were all very tasty. Our transfers from Ella to Yala and Yala to Tangalle were also organised by the camp. Within the camp there are several dogs watching/guarding the camp that were all very, very friendly. Overall we had a very nice stay at the camp. Apart from the points already mentioned, Ruwan, the manager, and his staff made us feel comfortable from the very beginning.
