The hotel has a great atmosphere with many different animals including a family of dachshunds. The rooms are quite simple. The dinner was very good and in the evening we were sitting together with other guests, the owner and staff sharing drinks and making music. They were super friendly and open contributing to a memorable evening.
Unfortunately, a few things were a bit off:
- We used the laundry service and when we had to leave the our clothes were still wet. We would have preferred to know that they could not handle the task than travelling with three backpacks of wet stuff
- The safari we booked though the accomodation was not a great experience as the driver was a driving maniac even for Sri Lankan standards (not slowing down on request, overtaking other vehicles in the park at 40km/h etc.)
- AC and hot water were not working although indicated differently in the booking
- (This one did not bother me but my friends) many insects in the rooms from cockroaches to quite big spiders

The ambience and landscapes are wonderful, you feel you are staying in a room carved into a mountain.
The environment around is so active and inviting, nice illumination
At the moment it is a bit hard to arrive as the main bridge from the road is open only for small vehicles so we had to go around to get to the entrance

Nice staff, interesting place, heart was put to create it, I liked the location, more in the nature.
Loud music at night with speaker directed right at my room, really smelly bedding which made the night more of a nightmare. The rooms smelled mouldy. Breakfast very basic.

Upon arrival we were informed that the cottage we booked was unavailable due to someone in there having a heart attack (very questionable excuse). We were then placed in a treehouse right next to the animal enclosure and the communal area. We did not sleep at all due to loud music and voices right outside the treehouse until midnight, followed by roosters making noise and dogs barking from 2 am onwards. The shower also wasn’t very clean. We were glad we only stayed there for a night .
One more thing we didn’t agree with was a baby monkey attached to a tree via a rope. The rope wasnt longer than 2 meters and sometimes even shorter. We don’t know the reason as to why the owner had the monkey, however the fact that it was kept on a very short rope made us uncomfortable

Where do I start, definitely one of the most unique spots I've ever stayed in, almost like something out of mad max and something else in a good way, 3 dachshunds, a monkey, plenty of roosters who did seem to crow a wee bit on the early side, but was a great place to base myself for one night for a safari.
Be prepared to share your room with some harmless residents of the jungle, I had a few frogs jumping round, wee bit off the beaten track, in saying hospitality options are limited in town anyway, but overall a great experience.

A cool experience in nature made from natural materials. Loved the room! Lovely surroundings including a river and wild monkeys and birds.
The Safari was amazing.
I found it very uncomfortable how the owner allowed his dogs to be so noisy and hump each other. It was unfair on the dogs and disruptive to guests constantly.
It was a little way from town and the sites I wanted to see, but the staff arranged a TukTuk whenever I needed one which made things pretty easy.
Whilst the sarafi was a wonderful experience, the lunch offered was very sparse (bread with one egg and a piece of onion) and there was little explanation regarding the itinerary or expectations for the day.

Wonderful
Fernando is an amazing human being and made me feel immediately at home. The rooms are fantastic and peculiar in a good way, if you like to be surrounded by nature but still sleep in a comfortable bed. I love animals and the fact that there were so many was the biggest highlight for me. The position is perfect as very close to Yala National Park and many other attractions, I recommend staying more than one night! Dinner is very tasty and it's really lovely to eat and hang out with other guests in the evening.

Amazing vibes, we have played drums together, there are a lot of animals. I advise you to stay 1 night to enjoy the great environment. But we have spend 1 night in the treehouse, the bed was too small, the shower is above the toilet. There was no doors (front and bathroom) there was so many noice during the night because of the barking’s dogs, the cock.

Very unique place with such a great alternative vibe!! Built with very much love, a lot of cute animals, main facilities were clean. Owner has a misty vibe and plays music with his drums in the evening, the other man was a beam of sunshine and very nice. Buffet was really nice and they were accomodating of my celiacs disease too. Safari was good, too, short way from there into Yala. Nice breakfast.
A bit of dusting off wouldn‘t have hurt(Fan, On top of mosquito nets, beams). Be aware that when the guests on the upper floor clean, some dirt will fall through the gaps in the floor (and onto your things. Music in the evening was very loud, but was turned off at appropiate time.
Be aware (!) but this is on us:
We underestimated how many animals would come through the gaps(Clay house) during the night. We had two cat visits, one undefined one which chewed on one of the bags(prob smelled the crackers in there) and one roach inside of our mosquito net. For my friend it was too much, so we left early.
