The location of the house and scenic view from the balcony is absolutely fantastic. It made us feel completely separated from the city rush and allowed us to rest and enjoy the Sri Lanka vibe. The room was nicely decorated and equipped with everything what we needed. We were welcomed by the most lovely Host who served very good breakfast!

Very nice room,, comfy bed and amazing view. Proprietors were extremely accommodating. I was picked up at the train station. The property is a a bit away from the city, up a pretty steep incline, but the kindness of the husband and wife, breakfast and all make it a great stay
Up step, windy incline…could be difficult to get to but the owner is willing to come down the hill and pick you up.

The view was amazing and the host were so loving! The way to the lodge is kind of a hike, but the host took us with the car to bring our luggage and helped at anytime to arrange a tuk tuk to go to the city center. In the evening we always saw a lot of Bats during the sunset, just amazing !!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Witherspoon lodge in Kandy. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this place truly feels like you're on a cloud, with a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. It's the perfect retreat for anyone looking for peace and serenity.
The family running the lodge are some of the nicest people we’ve ever met—warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. They went above and beyond to make sure our baby was comfortable, ensuring she had everything she needed. To our surprise and delight, they even set up a small birthday cake and adorable decorations for her special day. Their thoughtfulness touched our hearts and made the occasion truly unforgettable.
And the breakfast? Delicious! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and made with love. It was such a treat to start our mornings here.
If you're looking for a unique, heartwarming experience in Kandy, this lodge is an absolute gem. We can't recommend it enough!

The house was on a hill and the view was good. Quiet with birds singing. The room and bathroom were very good. The host was fantastic. He gave us a free ride to the train station at 7.30am. I'll stay there again in the future.

We had a lovely stay at Witherspoon Lodge, we were picked up by our hosts from the station and had fun trying to get up that infamous steep hill! (The hill is really not that bad to walk up)
The room is set with a beautiful landscape which was lovely to wake up to every morning. Breakfast was lovely and we felt so welcome.

I appreciate the great hospitality and support of Ms Sonali from the begining till the end. As I was travelling alone, it was a bit of skepticle to stay by myself. But once I arrived , she was able to ensure my decision to stay at witherspoon was the best. The host help me to find a tuk tuk and did everything to make my stay comfortable and pleasent. I love the place as it was the same as in tge description and nothing hidden. It was surrounded by nature and you can wake up with birds' chirping in the morning.
There is nothing I can complain. Only thing is you should have a ough idea about the location and the best is to use a Google map.

Very relaxing place in Kandy hills. The rooms are compact but comfortable, and you can spend the whole day just lying on the bed and enjoying the view, it is so much better than the pictures. The family hosting the place is sincere and caring. Totally worth staying, especially if you have your own vehicle and are comfortable with steep roads.
The bathroom needs some maintenance.

The room was spacious and clean, with a great view of the city. The host was very kind and spoke great english. She welcomed us with cold juice. Breakfast was simple but good.
It was the best shower we have had in our Sri Lanka trip of 3 weeks!!
The house is located on a very steep hill and very few tuktuk drivers will (and can) drive up it.

The owners are attentive, dedicated and very friendly. A simple and quiet place, just 3km away from the busy town, with two rooms that are really confortable, both with large bay window and a balcony with a nice view on the valley. The breakfast included is real good. this place is up a steep hill, surprising the first time you arrive there ( the owner came to fetch us in town) but you can get easily a tuktuk to get you there and back easily and in not much time. A bit remote, but for the price this is a great place to stay, a simple quiet spot in Kandy.

The host was absolutely incredible. She spoke amazing english, and along with her partner made our stay really nice, and accommodated every need. Organised all of our transport during Kandy, including pick up from the bus station (free of charge) and a tuk tuk at 2am for us to get a train to Nuwara Eliya. The view was incredible out in the mountains, a quiet and serene location. The host told me I looked very beautiful when I was going out for the evening, and she reminded me of home with the comfort of it. The hospitality negated being out of town a little bit. Breakfast and welcome drinks were amazing, we appreciated the fresh fruit!!
They made our stay in Kandy so easy and lovely, and I am sorry this is a late review but it was wonderful and I am so thankful!
The bed was a little temperamental and delicate. The Wifi was a little weak at some times, as was the hot water. But wasn’t an issue for us.
The dirt track ramp to get up is very steep (1 at a time in a tuk tuk strep…) not for the faint hearted. But all part of the experience, and the on-call tuk tuk driver handled it like a pro!! Worth it for the experience.

A perfect stay just outside of busy Kandy, but close enough to reach in a tuk tuk. The rooms are super clean and comfortable, with great views from the balcony! The owners are so welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. Highly recommend!!
