The view from the balcony was amazing. Only sounds of the jungle. The staff is so friendly, they will help you with everything you need. We travel with a 1,5 year old girl and she also fell in love with the accommodation.
The location. The view was amazing. But to get to Kandy center or other highlights, you need tuktuk. You can’t go by foot, it is isolated. We knew this when we booked, but in combination with the rain and no other bookings, it felt quite lonely at some point.

The view and the breakfast.
Location is not close from the city although the view is great. The owner was trying to sell his touring services but the prices were much higher than usual… felt like he was a bit pushy and wanted us to spend. He also wanted to charge the bottles of water which are supposed to be included in the room… furthermore, he asked if we can give him a 10 for the review, a bit odd…

Views were good from the common area. Host was nice/welcoming.
Very far offbeat location from the city centre, room was also very small, lot of big ants were there in the garden view room. breakfast was just bread and tea nothing else. Difficult to reach at night time , no street lights in the road that leads to the property(very scary experience for me to reach there at night).

This family-run hotel offers exceptional service and is perfectly suited for solo travelers, couples, and small families. Guests can enjoy incredible Sri Lankan breakfasts daily, featuring a healthy and diverse selection of dishes. The host, Viper, goes above and beyond to ensure guests are well cared for, taking the time to connect with each visitor personally.
The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-equipped with comfortable beds, efficient air-conditioning, and hot showers. Located at a convenient distance from Kandy city center, the hotel offers a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle. However, transportation is necessary to get around. Tuk-tuks can be easily arranged through the hotel or via the PickMe app.
The hotel also organizes day trips to destinations like the Knuckles Mountain Range, providing a unique escape from typical tourist spots. We thoroughly enjoyed our excursion, led by a knowledgeable guide and driver who shared fascinating insights about the area and made scenic stops for photos and videos.
If you're staying in the east wing, consider requesting your meals in the west wing to take in the stunning scenic views of Kandy. One important note: the hotel does not accept card payments, so ensure you have cash ready for checkout.
Highly recommended!

Great views and very nice atmosphere, you can hear the train in the morning and the birds singing. The host is very kind and helpful and so is the personelle working there. The room includes amenities such as body lotion, shampoo and body wash (this is not always the case in homestays / hotels in SL).
Everything was good, but breakfast can improve. There was no blow dryer in my room and the pressure of the shower is difficult to control (water can be super hot at a higher pressure). WiFi is very unstable.

Edwin was an exceptional host! He was incredibly thoughtful, especially with our infant, and ensured milk was arranged in advance as requested. He provided excellent guidance on activities to do in Kandy, making our trip even more enjoyable. The breakfast was delightful, offering us a wonderful introduction to Sri Lankan cuisine. The property itself is charming, with a lovely garden that attracts adorable birds and squirrels, adding a touch of magic to the day. Edwin was highly responsive and quick to address any concerns, ensuring our stay was both comfortable and memorable.
Its not a Con but you got to be mindful first time you need to go to the property. Its little tricky to get to the location during night.

I appreciated how quiet it was and the gardens are beautiful. The food was also very good. Viper can help you hire a driver to bring you all the way from Colombo, their prices were VERY reasonable.
You can eat very delicious Sri Lankan food there and breakfast is a surprise each morning w a special dish along side a continental breakfast choice.
Very hospitable! Helped me find a massage and book my next leg of travel. Very accommodating and peaceful place to stay.
A bit tricky for an outside tuk-tuk to find, but if you use their drivers, no problem!

A lovely guesthouse just outside of the center of busy Kandy, with cozy rooms and beautiful views of the lush, green surroundings. The owner is caring and ensures you have everything you need- he’s always eager to chat- you’ll meet him morning, afternoon and night! The location is a 30-minute walk or a quick tuk-tuk ride into town, offering a peaceful retreat while still being accessible to Kandy.
This place offers plenty of attention from the owner, so if prefer privacy, it’s something to keep in mind.

Sri Lankan breakfasts delicious, also had dinner cooked for us which was also delicious! A previous review wrote about the price of dinner, but it was worth every penny!

Mountain views, host, staffs were great and very accommodating! Surrounded by nature! Very often host will attend and join with you and provide you information about the location :).
For a big family or group accessing by a high roof large van is not pleasant due to extreme narrow road with UN-easy turning point. Priced to what we paid for a 5 star resorts for the same length of stay and rooms with standard/basic food, it should be lower. Google location will guide you incorrect, always call the host for correct one once you are on the up hill road!

The owner Mr. Viper and his workers were very kind and helpful. The family room was clean, large and opens to a balcony with panoramic views. There is access to a common kitchen and dining room which was useful. The Tenthola is in a very nice and quiet location. A feast is served for breakfast on the balcony. We would definitely return when in Kandy.

My three night stay was very enjoyable due to the wonderful views, comfortable room, and outstanding breakfast and staff. The host was engaging and offered many suggestions on what I may want to visit after asking me what I was interested in. The room was good sized and the hot water in the shower was great.
I enjoyed everything though do note that the location is a bit of a long walk from town as it is up a hill though you can always arrange to have a tuk tuk take you for a very low price.
