Wonderful
The Mountbatten was absolutely beautiful!! Set in wonderful gardens, with stunning views overlooking the valley and tea plantations. The gardens and main house were immaculately presented and beautifully decorated, with a wonderful colonial feel. The pool and outdoor terrace were both lovely and the food (especially breakfast!) was fantastic. I would also highly recommend their Ceylon tea which they grow, absolutely wonderful!
The pool was also beautiful but sadly we were unable to swim due to heavy rain during our stay.
We stayed in a villa and it was wonderful, very peaceful relaxing and spacious with great facilities and well appointed.

Wonderful
The little bungalow/ chalets were lovely and spacious overlooking trees and vegetation. Bathroom was huge with Ayurvedic toiletries supplied. The employee who served us was very attentive and showed us around the gardens and was very helpful with my food intolerances at meal times.
The pool was stunning with amazing views
The chalets could have been better if they had better lighting as they felt dark inside . It was hard to read at night as the lighting was soft and not focused and functional. They also had a mix of plug sockets which was rather co fusing as the kettle didnt actually fit in its plug!
There was a sauna near the pool but it didnt work.

This place is outstanding. Its situated on a beautiful hill overlooking a valley and very close to Kandy. The garden is beautiful and well-kept. The personnel are very kind and did everything possible to make our stay memorable. Theres lots of birds in the garden.

Simply amazing place. from the way we were greeted and treated throughout our stay to impeccable garden and stunning views from the pool. This place really deserves to be 5 star hotel.
hotels historical touch is a real bonus, and staff were professional, helpful and chatty when needed yet not too bothering when we were just enjoying ourselves.
our butler Sagar (Sajar) was excellent, it was pleasure to chat with him, he arranged everything we needed.
chef prepared our meals to our taste and was willing to make any changes to tailor the meals according to our kids dietary requirements. even offered us meals that arent on the menu. when they heard that we enjoyed dosa in Kandy, our butler arranged with chef to cook it specifically for us.
we stayed in hotel much more than we were planning to.
also we were positively surprised by food menu price policy, it was definitely perfect value comparing with other places during our six weeks in Sri Lanka.

We booked this place 1 hour before the arrival, as the initial hotel we booked in Kandy was absolutely horrible despite the good reviews. However, this place was magical. It is on top of a mountain, and you get the most amazing views and complete peace and silence, which is not guaranteed in the city. Even though we booked just 1 hour before arriving, the room was perfectly made, and the staff was extremely kind, welcoming, and accommodating to all our wishes. The food was super delicious, and it was beautiful to wake up with the views of the sunrise. If staying in Kandy, I would definitely suggest staying here.
Everything was great, and if something wasn't, it got fixed immediately. As we were traumatized by the horrible hotel we had to leave, we were very picky. As Sri Lanka is extremely humid, sometimes elements in the bathroom can discolor. We asked if something could be done about it, and the staff immediately changed the silicon in our shower while we were having lunch. So if something might be wrong, you are guaranteed to be taken care of and not worry about anything. Wifi was also a bit weak, so this might not be a place if you need to do some work while on vacation.

The hospitality is truly commendable, special mention Mr. Chulan he ensured that the service was top notch. Property is well maintained, services better than a five star and food was finger licking.

This was such a tranquil place and we are so happy we started our holiday staying here, the staff were all lovely and helpful and our personal butler Kazum was an absolute star, such a lovely helpful man who just couldnt do enough for us.
The entire property is steeped in history and has kept its authentic original charm, the only thing we could mention was the TV either didnt work or needed instructions for me to understand, and blue tooth speakers in the room might be a nice touch, the shower was a little difficult to set the temperature and needed a gentle touch, but this is being very picky and didnt affect our stay.

Loved the peaceful ambiance, the lovely and attentive staff, the grounds are perfect to read or write a novel, inspired by the views and fresh air but also fun with a lovely Pool and great food. We stayed in one of the cabins and it was super spacious, modern amenities, and a very comfortable bed and outdoor balcony. Nature all around, even monkeys and vegetation filled with different bird sounds. We loved the dinner and wine and the views. Other guests were very pleasant and the staff took care of us from the moment we arrived.
Nothing. It was lovely. Perhaps worth noting that the property is above the city so walking down the mountain (which makes the views beautiful) is not possible or would take long. Easy by car.

This is a very special place nestled in the hills above Kandy The garden & bungalow are immaculate. The food & service were first rate. The rooms were comfortable & classic. We were incredibly well looked after -I hope we can return next time were in Sri Lanka!
