The location is breathtaking. We enjoyed our stay so much and regretted we only booked 2 nights. Suzy and Bhathiya have been so welcoming. The food is amazing, all home made by Suzy.

Staying at Suzy and B’s homestay was an absolute delight. They are an amazing couple who have created a truly special place. The pavilion is beautiful, thoughtfully designed, and decorated with incredible taste—every detail feels intentional and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, the house felt very familial, giving us a genuine “like at home” feeling. It’s the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable, relaxed, and cared for. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would happily come back anytime. ?

Absolutely stunning house with wonderful hosts! Such a beautiful place and the hosts were so kind and welcoming. It was such a privilege to stay with a lovely family in such a beautiful place steeped in history. Will always remember this stay, if you have a chance to go would highly recommend it!

Located right in the jungle the view from the breakfast room was amazing. The Manor house is historic and full of charm. Suzie and her husband are lovely people. I had a swim in the pool and it was refreshing.
We struggled a bit with the hot water until we were shown how it worked. Every question was answered very quickly!

Everything. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the warm hospitality from Suzy and Bhathiya. Their place is beautiful and a lovely place to stay - a little out of Kandy but that makes it even more perfect in our view. It’s quiet and relaxing and after being out and about we loved sitting and enjoying the gardens or having a swim. Suzy is a wonderful cook too and was brilliant with my husband’s dietary needs (he can’t eat anything spicy which can be a little tricky in Sri Lanka!) Suzy was fantastic organising Tuktuks for us to get into town and a day trip to Sigiriya. Thanks for the wonderful stay and we hope to see you again, Tracy and Doug PS a back scratch for your lovely Labradors from us too ?

Bhathiya and Suzy are so lovely! They were really kind to me offering to drop me to the station super early in the morning and giving me some food for the trip. Sitting out overlooking their garden is beautiful.

Incredible!! From to start to finish - the communication with staff, stunning pool, interior design, homely touches, garden, view from the dining area, dinner and breakfast and staff. We were lucky enough to essentially have the whole manor to ourselves and the stay was a real highlight of our Sri Lanka travels.
Can’t fault a thing, wish we could have stayed longer.

Amazing opportunity to share a beautiful family home surrounded by peace and quiet but only a short tuk tuk ride into Kandy which Suzy kindly sorted out. The food was delicious, breakfast and dinner, overlooking the lush garden - completely idyllic. The rooms are furnished with antiques and the beds are very comfy, could not recommend this place more!

Caution – Misleading and Untrustworthy Experience Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience at The Kandyan Manor and cannot recommend staying here. Our trust was broken, and we felt deliberately misled by the hosts. We stayed for one night. Suzy seemed very kind, and the house itself is impressive—surrounded by nature, very clean, with a beautiful garden and a lovely dining area. Bhathiya arranged transportation for us to Nuwara Eliya after informing us that no more trains were available after noon, which wasn’t true. Our hosts assured us that the driver would stop at a tea plantation and show us some scenic spots. However, after an unplanned stop at an Ayurvedic herb garden, we started to feel uneasy. When we decided to end the ride early, the driver demanded 4,000 LKR for a very short distance. It became evident that this was a setup, and we felt taken advantage of. This experience left us deeply disappointed, and we would strongly advise against staying here. Trust is essential when choosing accommodation, and unfortunately, we did not find it at The Kandyan Manor.

A wonderful and peaceful place, beautifully decorated with a refreshing pool. A hidden gem not far away from Kandy which you can reach by bus or tuktuk. The staff was always very helpful and the owners very friendly. We also loved Kelly and Pepper the two labradors who were always very well behaving. If we ever come back to Kandy we will definitely stay there again. Breakfast and dinner were always delicious.

We loved everything about The Kandyan Manor, it is a beautiful tranquil place to stay, tucked away from the busy city of Kandy but easy to get to by tuk tuk. Bhathiya and Suzy were wonderful hosts. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner and great breakfasts in the most beautiful location. I wish I could have stayed longer and done cooking with Suzy and a food tour with Bhathiya - we will have to go back! which would be a pleasure.

Beautiful large family home a short distance from the busy centre of Kandy. Up a quiet road but easily accessible by public or own transport. Really amazing home from home. Suzy and her family are the perfect hosts. Nicest place we have stayed by far. It's so comfortable that we didn't want to leave. Can't recommend Suzy and her lovely home enough. Thanks for a great stay.

Suzy and Bhathiya were amazing with us. We had always dinner on the manor, because they were always sweet and a welcome couple. The food was amazing and the ambiance was perfect! The place is just a paradise..in the middle of the mountains..and fresh air everywhere.
Everything was perfect! If you stay in Kandy, stay here!

The Kandyan Manor and especially the owners offered a safe space in the middle of a chaotic town for us. Bhathiya and Suzy always took care we are feeling well and helped us organize trips. Also the dinner which you can book extra is highly recommended. You can get breakfast every morning with a stunning view at their terrace, most of the food is even self grown in their garden. We also liked the interior of the location a lot.
There is no window that can be closed in the bathroom and the blankets in our room smelled a little. But that's all.

Suzie is good cook Suzie and Bathia are very helpful and happy to advise on activities to do etc The manor is very beautiful The dining area is tranquil and very pretty The labs are gorgeous
Lighting in room is dim in the outside guest rooms. Dinner and drinks are a bit pricey and eating in town is a bit far away.
