Amazing views! We were made to feel so welcome and had 2 amazing nights. Got upgraded and room was excellent. Breakfast choice was great and set us up for the day! Couldn’t ask for anymore. All you had to do is ask and the staff at the hotel were only too happy to help. Both had a massage when we arrived which was very relaxing.
Hotel arranged our travel to Ella with stops. Fantastic. 10/10

The lizard in the room after informing them I’m allergic to insects and creepy crawly… we were three and had only one shower gel one soap one water bottle ???♀️

The location is quite far and a bit hard to find, but it is absolutely worth the journey. I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect, and I was completely blown away by how beautiful this place is. The gardens are pristine, the pool is a joy to spend time in, the views are incredible, and the overall atmosphere is deeply relaxing.
Service is top-notch. Every single staff member is genuinely friendly, kind, and always attentive—you really feel taken care of. We stayed in a Superior Deluxe room, which was very spacious and comfortable, with tasteful, clean décor and great natural light. The only small suggestion would be darker blinds for those who prefer a darker room early in the morning.
All in all, this is a true hidden gem. I would happily come back just to stay here, disconnect, and relax. Highly recommended.

Very nice place to hang out. Pool is awesome and a great place to relax.
Dinner and breakfast served in the garden a nice touch. There for Xmas eve and they made a real effort with lights and music etc
It’s a bit of hike from kandy. You have to eat on the site - food was fine and reasonably priced (for a hotel)
Air con was very effective but very noisy and couldn’t turn down the fan.

The hotel let us in check in late which was great. We were tired after a long drive but the staff was quick and attentive to our needs. Check in process was very smooth. They even went extra to upgrade us to a Super Deluxe Room which was really appreciated at the time. The breakfast next day was fantastic as well and I loved the sambal that came with the coconut roti. The hotel is located in a very quite and serene area that it really helped us wind down after the long day we had. I wish we could have stayed longer and will most likely consider booking this hotel again if I'm ever in the area again

I stayed at Elegant Hotel on Friday, November 7th, and had an exceptional experience from the moment I arrived. I was exhausted after a long day of travel, and the staff immediately noticed and showed remarkable kindness and attentiveness. I was upgraded to the Presidential Suite, which was a wonderful surprise. The suite was incredibly spacious, impeccably clean, and overall outstanding.
When I couldn’t figure out the electrical outlets, a staff member kindly came to my room to help. She was patient, warm, and made me feel completely at ease. The entire property was very quiet, and the next morning I was able to fully appreciate how beautiful the grounds are.
I genuinely wish I had stayed more than one night, as everything was exceptionally well done. The food for both dinner and breakfast was delicious, and the wait staff were friendly, welcoming, and professional. The Wi-Fi connection was excellent as well.
Out of the seven different hotels I stayed at during my trip to Sri Lanka, Elegant Hotel ranked number one for me. The combination of comfort, service, and hospitality made it truly memorable.

This is an amazing small hotel of exceptionally high standard in every aspect. We stayed in the Presidential Suite. A very large airy room and spacious bathroom and separate seating area. Two large private balconies facing East and West. Beautiful sunrise and sunsets. The grounds of the hote are also immaculate, with a spotlessly clean swimming pool with magnificent views to the mountains..We ate in the restaurant every night and specifically chose the Sri Lankan menu. Without exception every meal was outstanding. However for us it was the hotel staff that made our stay perfect. They consistently made themselves available and would do anything to help us. Our particular thanks go to Ama for administering our stay, Roshan for ensuring our every need was met and of course to the hotel owner Udaya for generously extending his hospitality to us

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at Elegant Hotel Kandy and were pleasantly surprised at check-in when we were upgraded to the Presidential Suite—an unexpected but truly delightful gesture that made our visit extra special.
The suite was spacious, well-appointed, and offered stunning panoramic views from two balconies—facing both east and west—allowing us to enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets. While the hotel is located a bit far from Kandy city, the peaceful setting and breathtaking scenery more than made up for the distance. It was the perfect place to unwind and relax after busy days of travel.
The complimentary breakfast was simple but enjoyable, and we had dinner at the hotel on one night, which was delicious and thoughtfully prepared.
The staff were exceptionally polite and friendly, always ready to assist with a smile—something we greatly appreciated throughout our stay.
Overall, Elegant Hotel Kandy is a quiet hillside gem with outstanding views and warm hospitality. Highly recommended for those seeking a tranquil stay away from the city’s hustle and bustle.
A couple of small suggestions for improvement: including a tissue box and slippers in the room would add to the comfort.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated with a comfortable bed and hot shower. The restaurant was nice and the staff attentive. One morning there was a buffet for breakfast, and the next day we were given a selection of food. I assumed it was due to the amount of guests. We ate dinner here too and the menu is pretty extensive and the food was good.
The pool area is clean and the view is stunning.
This hotel has amazing views because it is up a mountain. It’s about a 30 minute drive by tuk tuk to the centre of Kandy and it’s unwalkable. Bear this in mind when booking.

Overall, we had a fantastic and mind blowing experience with our 4 days at the hotel. The staff is fantastic, the pool is excellent, the restaurant is tasty and with very fair prices. The room was also super comfortable. We thank the staff for an upgrade to the Super Deluxe Room. Hotel Elegant has fantastic surroundings.
A special and grateful thank is given to the portier, the chefs, the waiters, the cleaning staff and different kind of co-workers. They treated us like kings and queens :)
The hotel is a clear '10' but we had one negative episode. See below.
I would strongly recommend all future guests to arrange transport and day trips on their own. It's up to half the price compared to the offers from Hotel Elegant. The World Wide Web is full of companies and private drivers who offer much cheaper service than Elegant Hotel.
Here is our story:
We were subjected to a 'conspiracy' by the receptionist, the owner and the taxi company the hotel do business with.
A day talked to the receptionist and the owner about renting a car and a driver for a whole day. First we were told that the price was 10,000 rps. After the receptionist called the taxi company, the price had suddenly doubled to 20,000 rps, which we accepted.
But on the actual day of our excursion, the taxi driver told us after 2 hours of driving that the price will be 30,000 rps. So we ended up paying triple the price...
At the end of our stay Hotel Elegant and the taxi company will offer us a transport from Kandy to Galle for a crazy price of 50,000 rps. We therefore decided to arrange transport ourselves. It could be done for half the price. 25,000 rps. The Morale is to use the internet for excursion and drives. That will save you a lot of money.

When I was first driving to the location, I was a bit worried that it was so far from Kandy but that doubt changed as soon as I entered the hotel! The grounds were breathtaking and the staff were absolutely wonderful and even gave me an upgrade to the HUGE presidential suite! The owner, Udaya arranged a tuk tuk driver for me within 10 mins and packed me lunch and off I was exploring the hot spots with Dileepa. After a fun day exploring, I had dinner back at the hotel and the service from the staff was incredible - thank you to Roshan for the amazing service and food recommendation - I had the fish curry and garlic bread and it was the best food I’ve had in SL so far. I loved waking up early to see the stunning sunrise over the pool and views and even had the staff (roshan) helped me take some stunning pictures. This hotel for me exceeded expectations and I cannot thank the staff and owner enough, I can’t wait to return!
My only regret is that I wish I booked another night
