A stunning location with incredible views, and a villa that’s beautifully kept and immaculate throughout.
The service was outstanding, and the food was exceptional.
Thank you for such a memorable stay. We felt warmly welcomed from the start. Pi is a fantastic host who made sure there was always something enjoyable for everyone. We loved all the friendly cats and dogs who added an extra coziness to the villa to feel even more like in your own vacation home. We can’t wait to come back!

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Bougainvillea Retreat in Kandy! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome and everyone was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure my stay perfect. The setting is breathtaking, with stunning views of the mountains and lush gardens all around.
The infinity pool is a highlight, offering spectacular views and a peaceful place to unwind. I also enjoyed delicious food prepared by the talented chef-every meal was fresh and full of flavor. The retreat has so many thoughtful touches, from the open-air spa and relaxing massages to the cozy lounge with books and games. Whether you want to explore the area, play a round of golf, or just relax by the pool, this is the perfect place to do it.
I can’t recommend Bougainvillea Retreat enough for anyone looking for a peaceful, luxurious escape near Kandy. I left feeling completely refreshed and already can’t wait to return!

Our stay at Bougainvillea Retreat was nothing short of perfect. The rooms were beautifully designed with floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing spectacular views of the hills and Victoria Lake. The staff’s attention to detail and warm hospitality made us feel truly pampered. Relaxing by the pool surrounded by lush gardens was a highlight, and the chef’s culinary creations were outstanding. A must-visit retreat!

Stayed 1 night at this magical place and wish we had more time to enjoy this amazing property. We really wanted to fit in a round of golf before leaving Sri Lanka and were very lucky to have spent the night at Bougainvillea Retreat, who very kindly offered us a late checkout as we were flying out in the middle of the night, which meant we had time for 18 holes on our
last day, we loved absolutely everything, the food was spectacular.
Chef met us on arrival and discussed food preferences and so tailored the menu to our liking. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, both served on the terrace with magnificent views of the mountains and reservoir. Our room was comfortable, well appointed, spacious and again with stunning views of the surroundings
Service was welcoming, warm, above and beyond, even with so little time, our laundry was washed, and ironed in 24 hours.
The property and grounds are well kept and probably the cleanest we have experienced on our trip! Our only regret is that we had so little time here. We hope to visit again. Thank you to the staff and of course every precious pet too for a thoroughly (albeit short) enjoyable stay

Loved the personal touch and attention provided by the staff. We paid extra for meals prepared by the inhouse chef which were all DELICIOUS! All meals were beautifully presented and very, very tasty. Rooms are big and comfortable. The house manager assisted us with organisation of daily excursions and taking us to climb a nearby rock with exquisite views. We had an amazing three nights at this beautiful location and would love to return one day!
The location is a bit remote which does not give great ease and variety for dining options. However beautiful views and amazingly quiet from the hustle and bustle. Having opted to dine in assisted greatly for optimal relaxation.
