The hotel has a lovely well maintained big garden area looking over beach/sea. Great for guests who don’t want to be right next to the pool.
The shampoo and shower gel. They provide them in small stone ‘bottles’. However the liquids are so thick they won’t come out.
There isn’t a great deal to do/ see in Kalutara but perfect for a few days relaxing on /by the beach.

Very friendly, efficient and courteous staff.
Room was very spacious. Lovely balcony view. Hot water, cold water available at the bathroom, from taps and shower. Hair dryer, shower cap, soap, shampoo, body butter was available.
Satellite TV was available.

We had 10 years wedding anniversary here as our marriage was orginozed in this hotel 10 years ago.
Welcoming was so sweet, staff was super kind and foods in the restaurant was amazing.
Definitely we will come back here once again.
The only problem was a shower. First of all it only has a stable part from the ceiling and its quite uncomfortable to wash bottom body parts.
Secondly, after shower all the floor was wet as isolation must be fixed there.

1. Property layout was good; pool area was well manned and the ground floor rooms had easy beach/pool access. My in laws liked the room layout; big and spacious and the ground floor rooms had a really big verandah where they could sit outside and watch the local wildlife.
2. Staff service was spotty; the best service was at the restaurant and the pool bar.
3. We were on half board; decent buffet spread for breakfast and normal dinner and the Christmas eve buffet was quite good. I quite enjoyed the lobster bisque. On the flipside oysters were a bit sad, and the guy manning the station needs more experience shucking oysters.
4. The carolers that came in on the eve were also to be commended; excellent performance by the local kids.
5. Special shoutout to the pool boy who remembered my deck chair location preference from the previous day.
1. The property was marketed as wheelchair accessible; and yes the rooms on the ground floor were sorta wheelchair accessible but there were no wheelchair ramps from the corridors to the bar to the lobby to the pool. Fortunately the steps weren't high.
2. HOWEVER the only restaurant on the property is on the second floor and there is no lift and they did not allow us to bring food downstairs to the pool/bar area. Appreciate the staff who had to manually carry my father in law in his wheelchair up and down the stairs multiple times a day but it still always felt a bit precarious.
3. Communications with the hotel regarding return transport hire; they use an external vehicle hire company and despite me reminding them multiple times through the booking.com messaging app and again at check in; they only called this external company once we checked out (which by then was too late and no vehicles that suited our needs were available) and the company sent a van with no air conditioning. We also were left waiting for more than an hour for the van to arrive.
4. Not sure if the hotel could have done anything about the touts hanging around the beach side being intrusive and constantly trying to sell something.

Wonderful
The meals were fine and the staff were accommodation about the specified times for the offering of each meal. Since most guest may prefer later times to visit the restaurants for meals, why not revise the meal times accordingly.
The room safe needs to a bit larger to accommodate electronics and laptops.
