The local cuisine was spot on but the Continental food wasn't great. There were also delays when food was ordered from the À la carte menu.

Our 2nd time back in 2 years because we love it that much. It feels like a small resort and even with the main hotel pool views and sea views while we stayed in the villas it felt like it was few people around at any given time which was quiet and lovely.
Staff from management to housekeeping and restaurant staff were out of this world. We felt like royalty. They communicate via WhatsApp and coordinate reservations and meals. True professionals.
The food is over the top amazing (please get the Peking Duck back on the menu at Spice traders ?).
July is rainy and very humid and August was much better with less rain & humidity than July but still ditch that makeup ? because there’s no point). I see why winter is peak.
I would still go back in August.
The transfer to/from CMB we used Anantara luxury car for 3 of us. Mercedes small van in pristine condition with drink and snacks was top notch and made the 90 minute drive a breeze.
Don’t forget croquet. We had so much time we booked private lessons twice!
Loads of free activities too.
Do the all-inclusive even if you don’t drink because you’ll find having a soda or snacks and meals adds up. All-in saves money unlike other resorts.
The 1&2 bed villas with the pools are out of this world. Private and quiet and room for the whole family to have their space. The kids swim all day and I could read or do whatever and see the pool from every point in the villa.
Big shout out to Dylan who kept our villa immaculate and created the most fun towel animals every morning.
If I HAD to say anything it would be the harassing of guys at the beach talking and giving out their taxi cards. It’s public of course but it was a bit annoying to say no thanks and they don’t stop and I finally had to get a bit firm with them. But I never felt unsafe as I was with my two daughters and was never worried at any point. It’s their job.

The resort is wonderful and staff are super friendly and accommodating. The pool area is lovely. Our pool villa was incredible and we had a very attentive host!
I think some of the activities like climbing and zip line should be included not chargeable

Great property with outstanding staff. The food is amazing which is a huge bonus. Only an hour's drive from Colombo which super convenient. Rooms are clean and comfortable and there a quite a few activities on the property.

The villa layout was impressive, specious, and well thought out. The private pool was definitely a standout and made the whole stay feel more special
There were insects all over the pool yard, which made it hard to fully relax. On top of that, I clearly asked for no pork in my food multiple times when ordering room service, and they still included it. That's not just careless, it's unacceptable

While the price was fair, the hotel itself was disappointing outdated, poorly maintained, and far from the standard of other 5-star hotels. The breakfast was extremely weak, and to make matters worse, we found ants in the rooms (the type that clearly requires pest control). Overall, it did not live up to expectations.

Fabulous property with superb amenities. The staff are absolutely fantastic - everyone provided an A+ service from the moment we arrived till we checked out. Special thanks to Romesh and Diani and the whole guest relations team. Nuwani in the Kids club looked after our child and he couldn’t be happier with his time in the resort

The property was among very big development very well designed and well maintained and managed, there is cultivation in the property, two restaurants Aqualina the Italian, and the Asian restaurant both were amazing , food is tasting so well and ingredients are all super fresh, staff are beyond friendly, they are very smart, and proactive, this was the best Anantara hotel we have ever been

Rooms were big and spacious.
They charged 200 usd for hotel pick up , insisting that’s the best and only option . And the car which came was a small vs what they promised. While they acknowledged and said will get back , it never happened. The general upkeep for the price of hotel is poor. They have open laundry , and utility rooms in same aisle as guest rooms. We Hugh lighted and ask for a room change but no action. Beach towels, and sun beds , don’t match the basic 4 star standards.
