Wonderful
We loved the place; location, rooms, service, staff, organizing the full day safari, inclusive of food. We were lucky to enjoy about six sightings of the elusive Sri Lankan leopard in addition to other wildlife. We also enjoyed the visit to the Uchimunai Church by boat across the lagoon, as suggested by the manager. The seafood was excellent and definitely value for money.

Poor
Staff were friendly.
The food at the hotel was absolutely terrible. The pool was not well maintained. Several small lizards were living in the bathroom. Overall very overpriced, not recommended.

We had the best time staying at Wild Wadi Wilpattu. The property is located about 5 - 10 minutes from the Wilpattu park entrance which not only means you can easily book a safari but you also experience some incredible wild life just steps outside your door. We cannot praise the staff enough. Everyone we spoke with was so nice and so accommodating. It’s very clear that the folks at Wild Wadi are very passionate about animals, the environment and sharing all of their knowledge with their guests. We had breakfast and dinner at Wild Wadi each night. We had traditional Sri Lankan meals and it was some of the best food we had so far on our trip. We would highly recommend booking at Wild Wadi if you are visiting Wilpattu - such an incredible experience! We will be back!

The property was really beautiful, clean and the location was very nice. The people working there and the owner were so nice and helpfull! The owner went with us on a boatsafari and told us a lot about Sri Lanka and the animals that live there. The other man working there was a wild animal specialist and went with us to the national park. Because of him we saw 2 leopards! There are a lot of monkeys and peacocks, which is really cool too see. We had our dinner there and it was a really good Sri Lankan meal. Very delicious.

Very Good
The hosts and staff were very welcoming and accommodating. The room was lovely, comfortable and well furnished. All staff were helpful in arranging a safari and dinning requests.
In places it did look a little tired but the hosts were having work done to update. But this did not in any way distract from the experience and comfort of the place.

We all really enjoyed our stay at Wild Wadi Wilpattu hotel. From the moment we arrived (really late in the evening) we were looked after extremely well by Manori and her team - they provided very tasty good value meals and organised a reasonably priced safari for us at short notice. The rooms are clean and spacious and the surroundings very nice. Our children enjoyed seeing the monkeys at breakfast and looking out for other wildlife. We were only sad we couldn't stay longer. Would definitely recommend - thank you for a lovely stay!

Wonderful
A real in the country experience with wonderful staff. Great access to the National park through a less busy secondary entrance. The food served was fantastic, real Sri Lakan curry.
The pictures on Booking.com are a little flattering and first impressions may not be the best but give it a chance, it’s worth it.

Wild Wadi Wilpattu is an absolute gem for anyone looking to experience the beauty of Sri Lanka in a truly authentic yet comfortable way. The location is beautiful, right on the edge of Wilpattu National Park, making it the perfect base for safaris and nature adventures. The atmosphere is easygoing, rustic, and charming, with a wood and bamboo look that blends seamlessly into the natural surroundings. From the moment we arrived, the staff went out of their way to make our stay unforgettable. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel right at home. The Sri Lankan food they serve belong among the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka—fresh, flavorful, and made with love. We did both a boating safari and a wildlife safari, both arranged by the hotel. The boat trip took us to see the famous baobab tree and explore the lagoon, where we spotted countless birds in a breathtaking setting. On our jeep safari, we were lucky enough to see elephants, a leopard, bears, and many more animals—an unforgettable experience! The rooms were very clean, spacious, and had good air conditioning, providing the perfect retreat after a day of adventure. Adding to the charm, we had visits from monkeys, peacocks, and squirrels, which made our stay even more special. I would definitely recommend Wild Wadi Wilpattu to anyone looking for an authentic stay near Wilpattu, where you can enjoy the luxury of great food, comfortable accommodation, and incredible wildlife experiences—all at a very affordable price.

Good
It was very peaceful amid farmland. The location near to the entrance of Wilpattu was really useful too. The people here are really friendly and incredibly helpful and Santa the wildlife guide was excellent. They arranged a safari, a boat trip and took us on a village walk too and also organised a driver for us at very short notice. The room itself was comfortable and reasonably well equipped. The food was patchy, saying that we had one of the best curries of our holiday here.
Some attempts have been made to upgrade the property, our room looked like it was recently refurbished but with lots of small things unfinished for example, only half the lights worked, only half the window blinds could be used. It would be good if they could just finish it off. The only other area is an open sided wooden hut where meals are served, it’s fine but very basic. The people who work here make it a pleasant place and they really want to improve things but the owners need to,spend some money on maintenance, it’s a nice lodge but not luxury as billed by the description.

Our stay at Wild Wadi Wilpattu was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and incredible service. We had the opportunity to embark on two incredible safaris with the knowledgeable and friendly staff. The wildlife safari was absolutely breathtaking—we were lucky enough to spot leopards, elephants, crocodiles, and so much more in their natural habitat. The boat trip through the mangroves and lagoon was equally magical, offering stunning views and an up-close encounter with Sri Lanka’s diverse ecosystem. The food was simply outstanding—authentic Sri Lankan cuisine at its finest! Both breakfast and dinner were full of flavour, freshly prepared, and truly showcased the best of local dishes. The accommodation was comfortable, well-equipped, and immersed in nature. Waking up to the sounds of the jungle, surrounded by monkeys and wildlife, was an unforgettable experience. It felt like a true escape into the heart of Sri Lanka’s wilderness. What truly made our stay so special was the wonderful staff and the incredibly kind owner, who went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience possible. Their passion for hospitality and wildlife made us feel right at home. And last but not least—the absolute star of our stay was Duan, the owner’s young puppy. He is, without a doubt, the most adorable and charming little dog we’ve ever met! If you’re looking for an unforgettable adventure, breathtaking nature, and top-tier hospitality, Wild Wadi Wilpattu is the place to be! We can’t wait to return.
It is slightly more expensive than other accommodations, but the below makes it worth it easily.

Very Good
A comfortable jungle cabin with a plunge pool, surrounded by nature. Lots of wildlife to observe from our room. We saw about 20 monkeys running, jumping and swaying in the trees around the pond in front of the cabin, several langurs as well, a mongoose and lots of different birds as well as some local cows and a very friendly stray dog that was sleeping outside our door every evening and followed us from and to breakfast. We had planned to go on a safari, (and for that Wadi is perfectly located), however, the nearest entrance gate got flooded and shut just before our arrival, so we were u fortunately not able to do it, but nevertheless, we enjoyed being immersed in the peaceful surroundings and observing the wildlife around us. We also enjoyed the tasty Sri Lankan food prepared for us daily by the very kind staff.
The terrace door was broken and that made it difficult for us to enjoy the terrace.

Thank you for a lovely day/evening at your hotel. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner/manager and her team who work so well together. Communication regarding booking and organising the visit was excellent. We learnt a lot about nature and various bird species nearby. The food was so very flavoursome. Loved the decor of the accommodation. What a shame the weather was so wet. We ended up cancelling the safari due to the heavy rains and winds. Perhaps we will return another time and try again. Very best wishes.

The room was built well, spacious and had a great AC. From the room windows we were able to spot animals like monkeys and squirrels, and we saw plenty of birds in the area as well. The staff were AMAZING. Super helpful and nice, always available for questions and explanations about the wildlife. We booked the safari tour from the hotel and it was great decision - they provided us with great food and we were accompanied by Shantha, a guide from the hotel, who was friendly, professional and thanks to his knowledge we were able to see two different leopards in two different days. We recommend asking for the tour with him.
The room is in the jungle, and therefore there were bugs entering whenever the door opened, as expected from a cabin in the jungle. The meals were fresh and rich, but very expensive relatively to Sri Lanka.

Great secluded spot to soak up nature, watching giant squirrels and Langurs from your room. Elephants roaming the grounds early in the morning too ? Room was comfy with plenty of space, staff were super friendly and very helpful The private plunge pool was a lovely touch after a hot day out
Meal prices were a little high compared with other places in Sri Lanka

We had a wonderful time. The accommodation was awesome and better then expected. The AC worked good and the pool was very nice to cool down. Around the accommodation there were a few monkeys to spot and observe. The best was the staff, especially Shantha. He's done everything to fulfill our wishes. The manager Manori is doing a good job too. Unfortunately, we had not the time to meet her in person.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Wild Wadi Wilpattu, and it exceeded all my expectations and I extended my stay. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and exceptional hospitality. The staff at this beautiful hotel go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcomed and comfortable. The room was immaculate and spacious. I was particularly impressed with the bed. I had such great sleep. Hearing the animals and nature sounds also made the stay even more enjoyable. There are plenty of activities to do at Wild Wadi Wilpattu such as bird watching, safari, kayaking, boat safari, nature walks, enjoy the personal pool and Manori took me to a local village to meet with locals and learn about their lifestyle. The hotel supports a range of important causes such as nature conservation, animal care and supporting/empowering local communities. The breakfast, lunch and dinner was fresh and delicious. It is evident that the hotel takes pride in offering a personalised and satisfying experience for its guests catering to various dietary requirements. What truly sets Wild Wadi Wilpattu apart is the genuine care and dedication of the staff. They are attentive, friendly, and always ready to assist with any request, ensuring that every aspect of the stay is smooth and enjoyable. In summary, Wild Wadi Wilpattu is a hidden gem that offers exceptional service, comfortable accommodations, and a welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable, unique and pleasant stay. I look forward to returning in the future!

Accommodation ok but not clean everything a bit broken. bed uncomfortable. Staff very nice.
We booked a safari for 130 doller which was bad... we spent 10 hours to see a leopard, always the same 3 places. Despite the fact that we said we wanted to see other animals...our guide from the hotel fell asleep in the car after lunch...can't recommend it at all
