Wonderful
Beautifully located in a green garden just by the lake with great sunsets. Nice pool. Very clean place. Nice and friendly staff. I stayed at the deluxe villa which was very comfortable, had a very clean mosquito net, Aircon and hot water. I didn't do any kitesurfing lessons but could join on the boat to explore the kitesurfing point. There is a nice place to do yoga and workout also. The food at the restaurant was tasty. Great value for money overall.
The location is a bit off so I wouldn't recommend it to solo travellers who want to explore and have no means of transport. Although it's not a resort, it's discouraged to consume at other places and also because of the location you are somehow obliged to eat at their restaurant. There are no mosquito nets at the windows and the place is extremely full of mosquitos, so that if you dont the mosquitos to attack your room you get no natural light inside the room because you can't open the windows. The place is a bit outdated but the manager Akash is doing his best to accommodate the personal needs of every guest, which makes the negative aspects to be tolerated. There was no espresso coffee during my stay because the machine was broken and no way to get proper coffee anywhere near, which was a killer for me. The bicycles are in bad condition and cannot be used. There is a lot of room for improvement. However I had overall a great experience, the place is serene (not a beach place- watchout if it's what you are looking for) , you can relax and unwind, it's beautiful and the value for money is still great, thus my good rating.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Valampuri Resort.
The rooms and bungalows are charmingly furnished. The bed is a good size and comfortable.
The bathroom is clean and spacious. Depending on the room you choose, the bathroom is attached to the bungalow. However, the high ceilings and the space between the bungalows provide plenty of privacy.
The service is excellent. Aakash and his team go out of their way to ensure you have a wonderful stay. Especially during a difficult time when a cyclone hit the island and the country was in a state of emergency, Aakash made me feel safe and well cared for throughout. He is very attentive, cooked for me when the staff couldn't come to the resort, and even took me to a location with cell service so I could call my family.
I highly recommend the resort and its team and will definitely return.

The staff is really nice and arranged everything for us! We went kite surfing for 2 days and could rent our stuff at the resort and got the boat ride to the kiting spot. The room was really nice with a hot shower, air conditioning and a good bed. We had a very good time at Valumpuri!
Because we were off season not every meal was available but overall the food was very good and tasty!

Fantastic location- on the lagoon. The property is spread out, so very green and pretty. They organized some of the activities we participated in- lagoon tour, dolphin sighting, etc. all of which worked out very well.
The food was average, in that the authentic Srilankan fare was great, the western ones not so much. We were there for 3 days so some variety would have been nice. Also they asked for cash payment- the room, food, activities, we had to keep going out to withdraw cash. Finally their room listing on the site wasn't clear that I was taking a non-ac room. They charged more for turning on the AC in the room.

Really nice place with huge potential, but definitely not a Kitesurfing resort: don't hire equipment, are all old and very bad maintained, plus the spot is reachable only by boat and they ask 10$ each person!

Really nice place, well kept, nice pool. Aakash also went out his way to make sure we were all catered for the best we possibly could be, by doing the absolute most for us.
The dolphin trip they arranged was also a one in a life time experience, which I am so grateful for.

I liked the staff, beautiful location in the nature, and delicious food.
I did not like the kite surf trainer they arranged. He talked a lot in circular logic, but not worthy of my time or money. I paid for introductory learning and cancelled the rest. So, I did not accomplish the main goal of going there. Otherwise, it was a great place to learning and recreation.

Food was delicious. The pool was nice as well but the water was a little too warm. They should consider having a roof over the pool so it doesn't heat up as much. Overall it was really good. Aakash was very helpful and looked into all our needs—exceptional service by him and the rest of the staff.

The infinity pool is clean. You can see the sunset, everyday. The AC was reliable.

Good location for kiting. Very cheap rooms
The food was overpriced and the rooms pretty dirty. Also the host wanted to check me out because I didn't book the kite rental with them. The kite gear was extremely run down so I rented with another school.
