We got a free upgrade: three rooms with balcony and that was lovely: the great view, the refreshing wind (you don‘t need airco here), donkeys walking by and Singalees families enjoying the weekend. The best was Ramesh and his team! He did not only make sure we got everything we wanted during our stay, but also helped organizing our activities before, during and after our stay without any financial benefit (Wilpattu, kitesurfing and negombo boat tour) - just because he is a great host! We already miss his care and great humor!
Ramesh is continously improving this small paradise. So just ask him if something bothers you: I didn‘t sleep well on the mattrass and he changed it immediately. Then i slept perfectly!

My best stay in the country and one of the best in my extensive travels in Asia! Room was basic but adequate, nice view of ocean from balcony, 1 minute walk to swimming beach. Host and staff were very very nice. I was able to get good custom meals delivered to my balcony. Host purchased drinking water and gin and tonic supplies in town for me. And he booked dolphin tours at approx $20 less than web price I found. And he took me to a shop in town to get my duffle bag repaired. All staff were pleasant and always smiling. A wonderful stay and I wish I had been able to stay longer than 5 nights.
Minor issue is that squirrels can get in room and tore open a bag of snacks.

A Wonderful Stay at Scoop Cabana!
Scoop Cabana is the perfect blend of comfort and nature. The peaceful surroundings and well-maintained cabanas create a relaxing atmosphere. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable stay.
The place is clean, cozy, and offers great flexibility, making it ideal for any traveler. The cost is reasonable for the experience provided. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and well-prepared, adding to the overall charm of the stay. Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway!

Amazing stay ! The location is just a few meters from the beach, the rooms are simple but very clean and confortable and the staff is super friendly and always there to help ! Also the breakfast was big and very tasty, as well as the meals ! I would recommend Scoop cabana without hesitation

Basic but beautiful and cozy room (all in wood/palm!), large terrace facing the sea, right next to the beach. Friendly staff, always ready to help. Great restaurant with traditional sri lankan food. Right next to great kitesurfing and diving centres.

Diving, delfin and whale watching 1 min away as well as kitesurfing and many other opportunities

Wonderful
I came there not during a season, but they were extremely welcoming and tried to make my stay as comfortable and nice as possible. I even got a better room for the same price. They served a wonderful breakfast for a good price. And they are right next to the beach, you can walk there barefoot. Also, next door you will find a very nice dive shop.
And I really appreciate the drop off at the bus station when I was leaving!
Flies :( but it wasn't really their fault I guess. And they tried to make it less inconvenient for me, for example during the breakfast they put a mosquito net around me.
Also dogs that were roaming around were a bit annoying and sometimes scary when they made noise at night.
