Lots of flys but staff, put fans on keep them away lovely place to just chill after travelling

Flies. Everywhere in huge numbers. Small grey sand flies seem to be common on the peninsula but the large numbers of black regular flies speak of a problem that the hotel needs to address. I saw them crawling in large numbers over the kitchen bench. They were on your food, body, face, on the concrete floor. I could not find anywhere outside to sit and read without being covered. Piles of rubbish out the back probably Fong help. Additionally, the hotel accommodation is very basic and on the first night the sofa bed was not properly made for our son. After we complained about lack of mosquito net for him a much better bedding arrangement was provided. We should not have had to complain to get this - we asked on first night how to set up sofa bed for him. Bathroom also needs deep clean. It was re-cleaned after we complained but the cleaner did not look up and remove spider webs and dirt at height, look down and clean corners, or scrub around tap fittings in basin (a thick scum was built up that I could scrape off with my fingernail). Below photos are taken after the cleaning occurred.

Felt whole place was unfinished. Lovely pool but nothing to stop you falling off surrounding wooden decking which would be dangerous to kids as 2-3 metre drop and also got splinters in feet. Very windy by pool and only 2 wooden loungers whose cushions kept blowing off. There is a potentially nice separate area to have drinks below the pool to watch the sunset but no comfy chairs and looked unfinished. Beach sadly had a lot of plastic waste along the shore line but not fault of Majestic. Lots of flies which were bothersome when eating. Room clean but dark, effective mosquito net and aircon but needed it on all the time when in room and charged separately for electricity. Overpriced for what they offered.

Do not expect luxury but you will be rewarded with an authentic relaxing experience!

The mosquitos where a bit annoying, but there is not much you can do about it.

Beach area really polluted but not the fault of the hotel.

My room was too close to the kitchen, difficulty sometimes communicating with some staff, the proximity of the mosque, the noise of the works during the afternoon and my room was not cleaned during my stay.

NOT LIKED CONTINUED from above 5. We went for dinner and we were told they have fresh fish from the morning. When we said can we have a look at the catch, The fish were frozen and the fish had slight cuts that indicated it was some left-over fish from some other function to be redone. Why would you freeze a catch of the day till dinner anyway? The fish looked so old it looked like dry fish. I know how fresh fish looks like. Not sure how they asses a guest understanding in freshness. So please beware if you order any fish from them, check it thoroughly or demand to check. 6. On the dinner topic we ordered some portions but at the final bill I was charged twice even though the cost was not that significant. 7. At checkout, I was charged the full room charged even though I explained that part of Villa2 was used by some other guest (Specially 4 drunk guys). The management cannot do anything about it or amend any prices or even get hold of the owner. I could go on forever but I will be kind and rest my case here. I would NOT recommend Majestic Beach Retreat to any of my friends, clients, business or even social media as the standard is poor unless you are a basic traveler who want to overpay for service that does not work. I did speak to all the staff working there as they have no authority to do anything. Looks like the owner has no empathy or doing better with reviews. The owner purely wants to make money with minimal renovation as they do not care how run down the property is. I really feel sad for the people who work there as this could have been a potential gold mine. Anyway, this is my honest two cents and I did inform the staff that will review on my stay not to take it personally. Not sure how this property has score of 9 on booking.com as I believe it should be around 5 not more than that unless the owner calls me and exaplain WHY UPDATE Nishanis comments: Very unrealy reply. Never will go back. She never had guts to confront me even though i had given number.
