Quiet place surrounded by lush greenery, with few rooms only and with beautiful view of the lagoon. Staff are very nice and helpful, food is amazing. Take a dinner with them, no many options in town!

The food was exceptional and we fell in love with Sahamed who helped us with everything we needed. We only had one night here but I could have spent forever. What a wonderful special place! Will DEFINITELY return when I can.

Our family’s stay at this breathtaking villa near the lagoon in Sri Lanka was an experience beyond words! Nestled in nature’s embrace, the villa offered the perfect blend of tranquility and luxury. Waking up to the gentle sounds of the lagoon, with the golden sunrise reflecting on the water, felt like a dream come true.
The villa itself was stunning—spacious, elegant, and designed for absolute comfort. The private pool, lush gardens, and open spaces made it a paradise for relaxation. The staff’s hospitality was exceptional, always ensuring we felt at home, while the delicious Sri Lankan cuisine added an unforgettable touch to our stay.
Whether we were kayaking on the lagoon, watching exotic birds, or simply unwinding by the water, every moment was magical. This was more than just a vacation; it was a soul-soothing retreat. We can’t wait to return to this hidden gem!?

This was our first stay in Sri Lanka, and it was absolutely amazing! The location is stunning and incredibly peaceful, offering plenty of privacy, various cozy spots to relax, and beautifully designed rooms with an outdoor bathroom. The food was simply outstanding. The chef prepares a delicious and varied three-course meal daily, probably the best we had during our entire trip. You can even watch him cook and get an insight into his culinary skills. The rest of the staff is incredibly friendly too and always there to assist with a smile. And to top it all off, there were three adorable puppies.
In short, this place is a must-visit for anyone looking for a breathtaking setting, warm hospitality, and incredible food. Many thanks and we'll definitely be back!
Nothing, it was absolutely perfect!
Note: They don’t have a restaurant or bar, so you can’t order food or drinks throughout the day. However, this is absolutely no issue, as the meals are prepared especially for you and therefore very fresh and of excellent quality. Just something to keep in mind.

We loved the uniqueness of this place! The accommodation is spread out and set within the most stunning, large garden. There was so much to explore within the garden, with multiple areas for chilling and a fabulous pool to swim and relax by.
We ate at the restaurant every night and we’re wowed by the food - it was so fresh and full of flavour.
Just a small improvement - it would be nice to have our room checked/cleaned daily.

The location and design of this boutique hotel nestled in gardens is like a paradise. The chef serves world-class three course meals and the view of sunsets is spectacular. As it was the right season (Feb) the manager arranged for us to go on a dolphin-watching boat trip which was incredible - we found ourselves within the heart of a massive pod of spinner dolphins as they raced alongside the boat. Magic!

Wonderful
Interior looks good and air conditioned with a comfortable bed. The property offers you kayaks and you can do kayaking as long as you like in the shallow waters of the lagoon. It's pretty safe. The chauffeur/ caretaker Ahamed and all the staff were very friendly and always at our service.

Pleasant
Interesting property off the beaten path, some good picks in terms of decor and design.
The rooms are rudimentary, the service is „trying hard“ but far off any normal standard. The property feels overall abandoned and not like a functioning hospitality experience. I. E. There is no liquor license and you have to get a Tuktuk to buy things for you in the nearby village. Overall feels more like an Airbnb than a hotel.

Very Good
Nice place.very clam and quite
super staff, especially Rasika, his service is superb and food also very delicious .
There are so many outside places to stay and we had nice leassure time under those sheds
I will definitely go back again and recommend
The room should have some coffee, tea , and a mini fridge, or even an intercom facility
There are mosquitoes outside , so we need to close the doors every time, so the room is dark due to timber doors and too much openings at bath room ,So animals like lizards and centipedes were in the bathroom.

Luna Laguna feels like a garden in a dream. Incredibly beautiful property hidden away in a Palm cove at the shores of the Kalpitiya Lagoon.
The rooms are tastefully designed and have a lot of attention to detail. There are several nice little common areas around the property to relax and wind down.
The staff is some of the nicest and most helpful we have experienced. They will try to make any wish of yours happen. The chef who has been with them for years and years cooks up some of the most delicious and fresh meals, so definitely book at least Half board for your stay to be able to enjoy the food. ( also there aren’t many other options in the area)
We recommend doing a boat tour and go Island Hopping and explore the mangroves in the area. There is a 300+ year old Baobab or Elephant Tree that is worth a visit.
Or get the boat to Wilpattu National Park and from there enjoy a private drive trough the oldest and Biggest Park in the Country. We also recommend it a lot more than Yala because it is not as crowded.
All this will be happily arranged by the Staff.
Just a heads up, we didn’t mind at all: for pople who don’t like bugs, It is a wild garden property after all, so it comes with all sort of wildlive.

We have just had the most perfect 3 night stay at Luna Laguna. From the beautiful gardens, gorgeous decor in the rooms and comfy beds to the peace and quiet and ability to completely switch off. Though if you need to work there is excellent WiFi in the dining area and 4G coverage in rooms. Best of all are Janita and his team, always welcoming and cooking up the very best food, every meal was a tasty delight! Thoroughly recommend.

Wonderful
Beautiful garden and a very welcoming and accommodating owner.
Location is excellent for kitesurfing - 5 minutes to the lagoon and a boat comes to pick you up.
Will definitely stay again
It is isolated, a bit far from everything. But the location is a very pleasant place to be and for us this was perfectly fine

The staff were friendly and attentive to our every need. The property is beautiful - even better than the pictures, with stunning views across the lagoon. Dinner and breakfast cooked by the property’s chef was delicious and excellent value for money. Due to being slightly off the beaten track it’s not as busy as this wonderful property deserves to be, highly recommend that anyone passing through kalpatiya stops here for an unforgettable stay.

Very Good
Delicious & varied breakfasts & dinners, both European & Sri Lankan, with the wonderful cook informing us the day before of his menu. We were lucky to have chosen a luxury villa with a spacious veranda at the edge of the lagoon. The highlight was having our own comfortable rooftop with an amazing view. A very quiet & gorgeous setting, a hidden gem amidst lush vegetation with the occasional birds chirping & low hum of fishing boats. Our room was spacious & beautifully decorated. Kudos to the friendly & helpful owner, Janith, & his attentive staff.
While there was a lovely spacious bathroom, some flimsy netting overhead & a very large opening at one end that was concerning, regarding security. Also some of the shrubs should be cut back to allow easier access from the villa to the dining area.
