The hotel was excellent! The owner was very friendly and welcoming, the accommodation was beautifully designed, and the breakfast served morning was delicious and thoughtfully prepared.
The road leading to the entrance was a bit rough, which made driving to the property slightly challenging.

This is one of the most exceptional places we have ever stayed in, with luxurious accommodation and the perfect hosts in Sudath and his wife Dammi. They make every effort to make every second at the Villa count, with no request being too much trouble, incredibly attentive hosting but with a warm and friendly approach. Sudath has put his heart and soul into the property and it shows with the attention to detail which makes it both sumptuous but homely at the same time, full of interesting art work and furniture and a superbly comfortable large bed in our deluxe room. With amazing home cooked food from Dammi, including amazing breakfasts every day, everything at the villa made us determined to return again for a longer stay next time. Immaculately clean, the villa sits amidst green and lush countryside, a short Tuk Tuk ride from the hustle and bustle of Hikkaduwa and is somewhere to relax in the immaculate and extensive gardens or take a dip in the beautiful swimming pool, flanked by exotic plants and ornate stonework. Staying at Kubura Villa is a complete experience rather than a hotel stay and we arrived as guests and left feeling like we had made two lovely new friends. A delightful stay in a unique setting which we highly recommend.

From the very moment you’re stepping in the Villa Kubura, you feel like the most valuable and important persons - that’s how I would describe the exceptional service by Sudath and his wife. Absolutely stunning villa with many charming details, beautiful area - 10 min from Hikkaduwa beach on tuk tuk and you’re in the most peaceful quiet place fool of coziness, delicious food, clean rooms, unbelievably kind and careful hosts predicting your every wish- I couldn’t find the better place to stay in all over Sri Lanka. Bravo!

It felt like coming home. The Villa is a beautiful gem built in authentic style and lovely design within the rice fields. Some local people even go there to take Wedding pictures as its so beautiful. Sudath and his family are so kind-hearted and offer the greatest Service. And not to forget: the food! Sudath's wife cooks amazing dishes (breakfast, dinner, fresh juices... everything). Villa Kubura is a beautiful place to relax and just enjoy a peaceful time, we didnt miss the beach for a second (and if so, you can be there within 10 minutes by TukTuk).

We had booked 3 days at the end of our 1 month trip around Sri Lanka. Villa Kubra was our penultimet stop...it did not disappoint! The place was built with love and attention to detail by Sudath and Dammi. They were the perfect hosts in such a tranquil environment surrounded by nature and their beautiful garden. We ate at Villa Kubura on two nights and feasted like never before. It was by far the best traditional Sri Lankan food we have tasted on our trip. Sudath and Dammi completely deserve the score of 10 they have received on booking.com and this is reflected by the feedback others have left. I highly recommend a stay for a few nights to unwind, relax, inhale the nature and dine on fantastic food made by this wonderful couple.

One of the most peaceful and outstanding places I have ever stayed at. Serene and beautiful. Exotic birds and plants everywhere. The location is second to none and the pool spectacular. It was more like a Luxury homestay, due to the very personal attention of the unbelievably kind hosts, Sudath and Dammi.
We even did a fantastic cooking class with Dammi! We will definitely return to this Paradise!

The host is very hospitable, him and his family run the location and offer you all kinds of help you would ever need. We stayed at New Year’s Eve and were provided with amazing NY dinner cooked by his family at decent price. He can always take care of taxi and other arrangements, generally very nice person to talk to. He built the villa by himself and paid a lot of attention to details to make it perfect.
The location is amazing - it’s away from noisy and dirty touristic locations and gives you very calm and private leisure experience. Rooms are very spacious and well-organized with good sense of design. Every room has its own balcony, where you can enjoy views. The yard is very well-groomed, you can always see small squirrels running back and forth. There’s also a nice backyard with good photo locations.
You can chill by the nice and clean pool, the host’s family will always take care of welcome drinks and juices throughout the day to make your leisure even more nice.
Try traditional dinners, we were really amazed.

Couldn’t have asked for more. From the moment we arrived at Villa Kubura we were treated exceptionally, every little detail was thought of from cold face towels on our arrival through to complimentary fruit drinks tea and coffee. The villa is better in person than the photos - a truly beautiful place and spectacular location. Do try a meal here freshly cooked one of our favourite Sri Lankan meals so far. A delight!

We had a fabulous time at Villa Kubura. Sudath and Dammi are wonderful hosts and continually go the extra mile to ensure the happiness of their guests. There were lots of unexpected touches - bowls of fresh flower petals, candles, fresh lime soda brought to the poolside and constant supplies of tea, coffee and cookies. Dammi is an excellent cook and was very happy to share her recipes and methods. The food was the best we had anywhere in Sri Lanka. The property itself is beautiful, set in rice paddies a 10 minute TukTuk ride from the seafront at Hikkaduwa. The guest rooms are large and comfortable with excellent AC , good beds and excellent showers. The overall atmosphere of Villa Kubura is of a beautiful and tranquil oasis with a personal butler service.

We have just stayed at Villa Kubura for 7 nights and wish it was so much longer. We had 2 rooms, both of which were beautiful, decorated tastefully with a mixture of new and old including teak and rattan furniture. The beds were extremely comfortable and I've struggled with back problems for many years so I'm a hard customer to please! The bathrooms are stylish and immaculately clean - in fact the level of attention to detail in every aspect of our stay was outstanding. The swimming pool is clean and elegant, set in a beautiful tropical garden amongst the rice paddies. This is a completely family run place - the level of service was comparable to a 5 star hotel but with a very personal touch. Nothing is too much trouble and the family who run the Villa are so warm and thoughtful. The food here is hard to beat throughout the whole country, and we hope to return to learn some secrets from the kitchen! Every day there is a wide choice of delicious dishes based on what is in the market that morning. Everything from laundry to safari day trips were arranged with great care and no stress. Photos and reviews don't even do this place justice, we can't wait to be back!
