A wonderful small property with just three villas, which makes it feel very private and peaceful. The villas are immaculately kept—spotlessly clean, beautifully designed, and surrounded by lush plants. The private pool was fantastic, and the water pressure was excellent, which really matters after a long day out.
The room itself was amazing, but the absolute highlight of our stay was Hashan. He could not have been kinder or more helpful. He went above and beyond to help us find and organize an Ayurvedic doctor for my husband, which meant so much to us. Truly exceptional hospitality.
An absolutely great stay—we highly recommend this property and would return without hesitation.

Nisala Villas is an absolutely special and truly magical place. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a little hidden paradise that radiates pure calm, peace, and relaxation.
The private villa with its own pool is stunning. Everything is spotlessly clean, beautifully designed, and surrounded by lush jungle nature. You really feel like you are completely alone in the world, with total privacy - just you, nature, and tranquility. It’s the kind of place where time slows down and you can truly breathe.
Because the villas are surrounded by jungle, you hear the sounds of nature at night. It can make sleeping a bit challenging at first, but honestly, it’s also part of what makes this place so unique and memorable. Falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle is a real Sri Lankan experience and something we will never forget.
Hashan and his team are simply wonderful. They are incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful, always available whenever you need anything. What we appreciated most is that although Hashan is always reachable and takes amazing care of you, he is never intrusive. You feel genuinely looked after, yet still completely private and free - a perfect balance that is hard to find.
Nisala Villas is perfect for couples who want to treat themselves to some quality time, peace, and romance. If you are looking for a quiet, dreamy escape surrounded by nature, this place is an absolute recommendation from the heart.

This was one of my favorite places I had stayed in Sri Lanka and I had stayed in many places. The welcome from Hashan was lovely and he was very helpful and attentive but also gave us our privacy. The villa was amazing and the pool wonderful. Breakfast was a good selection and location was stunning. Keep in mind you are in the middle of nature as we had some insects in the villa so repellent is a must. Listening to nature, swimming in the pool and watching the fire flies and stars at night was a beautiful experience.
We did have an issue of ants on the bed one night and we couldn't figure out where they kept coming from but as I said, you are in the jungle so keep an open mind.
A TV would be a nice touch.

Everything was perfect. Hashan was an attentive host that made sure all we needed was taken care of. Lovely villa, clean and spacious. The food was great. We had a lovely time. Perfect to relax and enjoy private time. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner in the villa and enjoyed the privacy and personal touch. Thank you Hashan and team for great work.

We booked Nisala Villas to celebrate our last night of travels and it couldn’t have been more special. The villa was super cool and very comfortable. It was also complete spotless and had everything we needed. Hashan was so helpful, always there when we needed him but also respectful of our privacy. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Nice cozy stay. Clean well kept villas. Pool was also clean and well maintained. Hashan was an excellent host and took good care of us, helped us with suggestions for places to visit and also arranged for transport for us to reach the main beach, which is a few kms away.
Pros:

comfortable bed and ACs that work well.
Cons:
Slightly far from the main market/beach but the team called for a tuk tuk when we needed it.
Limited menu to order food - but whatever we ordered was tasty.
Overall a good stay, made all the better with a good host. Hashan was very polite, courteous and helpful!

Great Villa in a wonderful environment. Very quiet and a lot of animals around. Good breakfast. Hashan is a great host and overall very cool guy. Also shoutout to the Tuktuk driver and his son for bringing us anywhere we wanted to go. We really enjoyed our stay.

The place, the area, the design, great breakfast and opportunity to order delicious dinner and stay in the middle of the jungle with private pool with no noise but birds and squirrels (which play on the fence, creating a nice safari like entertainment). Hashan and the whole team took the best care of us. Perfect place for a couple to spend time together.The beach is 7 minutes ride or 20 minutes walk, tuk-tuk is easy to get

Hashan was amazing! He couldn’t have done more for us; organising Tuk tuk’s to the beach, restaurant recommendations, organising massages etc. He was our highlight of our stay at Nisala Villas.
Pool is small but it’s warm and private.
Food (breakfast) delivered to the room.
Hot water was lacking in the showers (both inside and outside)

Nisala villas is a brilliant place to relax and unwind in the Sri Lankan countryside, whilst still being on the doorstep of Hikkaduwa.
The villa was just beautiful, with a spacious and modern design. The features such as the outdoor shower and private pool are fantastic. We really got the wow factor when we arrived! The room and area outside (patio, pool etc) were kept exceptionally clean throughout our stay, with lovely touches such as towel art! Having just the 3 villas on site allowed it to feel very private.
The location is roughly a 20 minute walk away from Hikkaduwa down quiet roads. Hikkaduwa itself had plenty of restaurants and shops, as well as a beautiful beach, where we were able to spot turtles. Being slightly further out of town meant that the stay was incredibly peaceful, surrounded by lots of trees and wildlife. We saw peacocks, chipmunks, lizards and monkeys from our villa (none of which were bothersome in any way).
We had breakfast at the villas each morning and opted for lunch and dinner on a couple of our days too. There was plenty of choice available, all delicious and prepared at the times that worked best for us. We were able to eat the meals outside our own villa overlooking the pool which was just lovely. There was also a mini bar, with fizzy drinks and beers for a very reasonable price.
What makes this stay so so special is Hashan! He really is an asset to Nisala Villas. He is always available on WhatsApp to support with any questions or requests. He gave us so many recommendations, arranged a scooter for us to use and was just in general lovely to get to know during our 5 night stay. We didn’t speak too much with other members of staff, but everyone we did meet whilst staying was lovely too.
I would highly recommend Nisala Villas and will be booking again when we return to Sri Lanka!

The villa is stunning, located in the middle of the forest, it was one of the best experiences we had. A must visit if you are in Sri Lanka and want to escape the city.

Hashan was amazing and made us feel completely at home. Nothing was ever too much, from arranging tuk tuks to taxis, to recommending local restaurants. The villa was beautiful and a perfect place to relax at the end of our holiday. Great location. Would definitely stay again.

Amazing!! We would stay longer if we just had time. Here is everything you need. Super comfortable bed, working ac, cozy cottage, outside shower and so on. And the POOL!! We loved it!!
We got our own butler who took care of everything we needed. He arranged us delicious dinner from their own menu. Prices are actually very decent.
I think this could be perfect for example to honey moon. 11/10! This is a GEM!

Beautiful villa. We spent 4 amazing days in the villa and everything was perfect. The place is absolutely beautiful and Hashan and all the staff are very kind. Breakfast (included) and dinner (to pay extra) were served in the villa at the time we wanted. A tuk tuk was always available for any time we needed. Also we could have a super massage in the villa for a very good price.
Everything was good. The temperature of the water of the bath should be hotter.
