Everything was great. Mali and her family are lovely people, they welcomed us very warmly. She is also an amazing cook. The rooms are quite spacious, but you might not have enough storage space. We traveled with carry-on luggage only and it was ok.
The house is really close to the railway. But that's the specificity of Hikkaduwa, so either by the sea for an overprice, or by the railway, or already far from the sea in the jungle.
If you are a light sleeper, take earplugs

The room was clean. The hosts were really nice. Breakfast is very tasty and big portions.
The train starts passing at 3:40 in the morning so if you are a light sleeper like me, you will wake up many times every night as it is very close and loud.
The room had an ac but we were asked around 6000 per night to get the remote(we didn't get the room with ac, but still i think it's a bit expensive)

Nice homestay close to the beaches. The host is lovely and extremely helpful, whatever issue I had she solved instantly ?
Train tracks nearby - if you’re a light sleeper then you may be woken up several times at night by the noise.

Mali and Sarathi are two lovely and amazing people. I felt like literally being home. We had breakfast and dinner there, everything was freshly made from Mali which is a great chef and we tasted local food made from a local which is the best experience you can get when travelling. Sarathi was so nice to cut a fresh coconut from his tree and let it drink. We sure recommend this this place and surely come back here next time. We loved it!

Excellent house with kind and helpful owners ( helped me with paying mobile account, keeping my baggage when I move to another parts of the island ) .
Ability to book dishes ( excellent price and taste! ) at the house.
Sometimes a loud train moves not far from the house.

Lovely family running the place. Food there was great with reasonable prices so I ended up eating more there then in the city. Everything is in walking distance, beaches, coffee places, supermarkets. They have space for TukTuk parking too. Two Lovely dogs. Clean rooms with fan. Nothing to complain!

Had a wonderful stay at Mali guesthouse in Hikkaduwa! Really kind couple running the place and they provided everything needed. Clean and big room, nice balcony. Mali cooked very tasty food (: will definitely stay here again if I go back to Hikkaduwa! ??

Mali is super nice, open-minded and has a wonderful family who welcomed us all warmly and provided us with super tips for our further trip. Breakfast and food were also really good and we were even allowed to look behind the scenes during cooking. We had a very nice stay and will definitely be back!

Comfortable beds, great A/C, proper functioning WiFi (in the rooms as well) which is difficult to find in Sri Lanka. Family were extremely kind and happy and helpful. One street back from the main road so close to everything.
The train tracks run right in front of the house so a few times a day and even in the night the extremely loud train goes by the house. Other than that, great stay.
