This property is the epitome of rest and relaxation! Even though the property was 70-80% occupied, we rarely saw other guests and felt like the entire place was reserved just for us. We loved the minimalistic lifestyle it embodies, no nonsense or “events” - just a place to unwind and forget about time. The beach is absolutely breath taking albeit not recommend for swim. The rooms were very good in size and had very comfortable beds. The staff were all extremely helpful and professional and accommodated almost, if not all of our request. The food was excellent and our 3 year old loved all the food on the kids menu - a big win! Also the open grass area was such a delight for our child to just run around and be one with nature which is rare nowadays.

Fabulous location on the beach, set back from the road and very quiet. The staff are fantastic - nothing was too much trouble and very attentive. Food was also excellent, although staying for a week it would have been nice to see a change in the menu…
There isn’t much in the immediate vicinity, so if you are not happy relaxing in a fabulous hotel on the beach this may not be for you. That said, Uber works fine so we were able to travel about and see Galle, Lunuganga and other places so not really a problem. Just no alternative restaurants or anything you can walk to.

Amazing resort, with wonderful, big, green property next to the amazing beach.
Garden is quite spacious, with the open view of the ocean and sunsets. Lounge chaies are spread around the gardens, so you can enjoy the conversations with your fellow guests, or choose the remote corners for the peace and tranquility and enjoying sound of waves on your own, or with your partner.
The pool is very large, and never crowded, as this 10-room resort offers plenty of space to make you feel very comfortable. If resort is full, make sure to get the lounge chair early, but if you are not there all the time, you can finnd your stuff moved away by some rude guest.
Beach so beautiful, as it breaks the monotony of the long beach with massive boulders right in front of resort.
Rooms are very nice, but lower priced rooms are little bit smaller than expected. Nevertheless, the bathroom is wonderful and spacious and both are very well designed.
One thing that is missing in those rooms is privacy of the balcony.
Breakfast is wonderful starting with the fruit platter, bakery basket and then a-la-carte option, which is second to none, with local and international variety.
Dinner menu is not huge, but with well chosen dishes and affordable.
Definitely a place to visit again.

Perfect location and charming hotel, with excellent food and service.
The bedrooms are set out like an aircraft, with first, business and economy class sections. And as a result the guests behave in the same way, with the upper classes looking down on the lower classes. But there were still towel wars to get the best sun spots!!!

Kumu Beach is like being in paradise. Your eyes just won't get enough. The way the hotel is designed, combined with that stunning beach, rocks, and the pool are just incredible The staff is incredibly kind, from extra requests - such as breakfast on the go - to the chef coming to your table with dinner. The other guests were also very respectful and relax. This has been our favorite place in Sri Lanka.
Wifi was a bit up and down. There isn't too much you can do outside of the hotel in terms of other good restaurants. But if you are looking to be in a paradise bubble to completely relax, this is your place

Checkin was poor as we had a mix up on the booking the staff did not seem to have to authority to make decisions - this was very irritating given that we were tired and it is such an expensive hotel - this really clouded our experience

Aesthetics and the view from the pool. Never too crowded as they host limited guests. Staff around for any help at all times. Free drinks in the evening.
Staff was extremely cooperative and went beyond the usual to accommodate our needs. Almost everything you’ll eat is freshly cooked, including the chips, bread, jams.
The two rooms we booked were deluxe. They were extremely comfortable but offered no view. The difference between a deluxe and their signature premium rooms is stark.
