I had a great stay here and would absolutely come back. The room is spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with beautiful old teal wood, a polished concrete floor, a nice mirror, and even a TV. The air conditioning is excellent—better than in many other places I’ve seen around here—and despite the large walk-through veranda doors and many windows, the room stays pleasantly cool. The lighting is also really good, which isn’t something you find everywhere. Some units have a porch, others a balcony—either way, you get your own outdoor space to relax. There are also several shared areas: one just outside my apartment, and a larger common space with an extra kitchen connected to multiple rooms. It’s all very practical and well maintained. A janitor is on-site and happy to help with anything you need—even things like laundry. The landlady is kind, thoughtful, and even helped organize my workspace. One of the absolute highlights is the view over the rice fields. It’s so peaceful and scenic that even locals stop nearby just to enjoy it. The property sits at the quiet end of a road, with around 10–12 units and a newly added swimming pool that looks great. Even though I didn’t see a single mosquito during my stay, the landlady still had a mosquito screen installed on my window—just one example of how accommodating and detail-oriented she is. She also offered me a very fair rate since I came during the off-season, which I really appreciated.

Villa Peacock was our home away from home for 2 months in January-February 2023. The location is wonderful - set right next to beautiful paddy fields, the property is well designed and well taken care of. The owners and staff were a delight. They did everything they could to make our stay perfect and provided us with many additional services at no extra cost. For example, they provided us with our own separate high-speed internet connection, because we work remotely and needed a strong and reliable internet connection for video calls. They also installed a power generator, so that we could continue to work uninterrupted during power cuts, which were frequent in Sri Lanka at the time. Villa Peacock is close to Galle, Unawatuna, and the Southern Expressway, which makes it the perfect base from which to explore the Galle area.

Everything exceeded our expectations. The villa is in the middle of the green with a beautiful garden facing a luxuriant rice paddy field. The rooms are massive, super clean with all the needed confort. The location is just perfect with only a few minutes tuktuk to the surrounding beaches and Galle Fort. We loved the breakfast and the company of Chaminda which is always there to help you, organise transport and give tips on where to go and what to do. We highly recommend the Villa Peacock. You will love it!!!!
