Aroshina is a wonderful host. She is welcoming, helpful and kind. She and her family went out of their way to make my stay with them, and my first visit to Galle, as comfortable, easy and pleasant as it could possibly be.

Wonderful
Staying at Aroshina's place is like getting a slice of the Sri Lankan life. The rooms are clean and well done. Her cooking class is easily the highlight of the stay. Its 30 odd dollars more but worth it. It is as close to everything as it can get without being in the middle of the chaos. I walked to the fort easily, and a Keels supermarket is nearby too.
She knows and might take you to a gem shop nearby if that interests you. Please check the credentials and certificates before you buy.

Very Good
Aroshina invited us to have dinner with the guests who took the cooking class on the day we arrived. There were about 20 courses and it was absolutely delicious, it was very thoughtful of her to include us. Our room was spacious and it was a good value.
It was quite dirty around the house, but not in our room. We didn't take the cooking class because it was a bit expensive, and seemed like it would take about 4 hrs.

I feel incredibly lucky to have stayed here and to have met such a wonderful family. Aroshina Manju Ckushi truly made me feel at home.
Everyone was so kind, genuine, and thoughtful. They generously shared the best local recommendations and even showed me around, simply out of friendly.
I also joined Aroshina’s cooking class, which was an unforgettable experience. From going to the local market to choose fresh ingredients to enjoying the delicious dishes we cooked together, the whole process was lively, fun, and full of warmth.
This place is not just a place to stay, but a place where you feel truly welcomed. I will definitely come back again next year.

The Aroshina villa is a must if you are looking for home stay in Galle. Mandu and Aroshina are very friendly people and will treat you like family from the beginning. The house is beautiful and the room was clean, the hospitality was the highlight of the stay however. I will come back and visit every time I am in Sri Lanka no doubt. Mandu will drive you everywhere in Galle no problem. These are good people with a good home.

Aroshina has created a truly lovely space; the room was exceptionally cozy. The family is incredibly welcoming and makes you feel right at home.
However, the host's enthusiastic promotion of her cooking class (which is a separate cost) could be slightly less insistent. While we enjoyed the class, the number of dishes (fifteen or more) made it more of an assisting role than a guided experience.
In my opinion, it would be more pleasant experience if we would reduce the number of dishes, get more structure, and have a shorter workshop so we could better remember the recipes and ingredients.
Also, a significant amount of food was prepared and ultimately unused. Finally, extensive photos and videos are taken during the class, so inform the hosts beforehand if you prefer not to be filmed.
In summary, the accommodation is lovely and welcoming, but a few minor adjustments could enhance the overall comfort and experience for all guests.

This is a beautiful place to stay - Aroshina and her family take care of you like one of their own. The room was stylish, clean and had a huge double bed - plus there was a lovely lounge area and balcony to relax on. The breakfast was delicious and very generous portion sizes. Thanks so much for a brilliant stay!

Lovely place to stay in Galle proper, away from the tourist area. Easy to get down to Galle Fort via Tuk Tuk and within walkable distance if you want to. We did and enjoyed the hustle and bustle of Galle town. Aroshina and Manju are super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended

Loved the fact it was a genuine family home and we were treated as family. Clean and very comfortable bed. I recommend doing the cooking course - just brilliant. Taken to train station at the end of our stay which was a lovely touch. Walkable to Galle fort too.
There was nothing to dislike about the villa.

The host family of Ms Aroshina, ms Aroshina's passion, her wonderful breakfast, beautiful interior and patio, the nature, chance to learn more about Sri Lankan life, so many animals to see
Can be noisy at night. Travellers must be aware that this is not the most luxurious accommodation but a chance to get to know local people, experience home made food, and so on. Unfortunately we couldn't make the cooking class because it starts at 4pm, which was a bit earlier than we expected.

We had a lovely two night stay at Villa Aroshina.
It was super accommodation with lovely decoration. We had a clean and comfortable room with air conditioning and ceiling fan. It was lovely and quiet for a very good night's sleep.
The shower was hot at all times of the day (which is a first in our trip!)
Breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious.
For those who love cooking, definitely book a cookery class in the outdoor kitchen.
Aroshina was such a wonderful host with her hospitality. Always on hand to help or answer questions. Her kind husband took us to and from the hospital for some urgent medical treatment (thank you).
The villa is situated close to the fort and only a few minutes by tuk tuk or bus from the main road. We also walked and it was around 20-25 minutes spending on your pace.
Overall we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend Villa Aroshina. If we ever come back to Galle we will definitely stay there again.
Everything was good

Lovely warm family welcome, close enough to the fort area without the inflated costs.
We didn't have enough time to experience Aroshina's cooking class but will next time we stay
Nothing to complain about
