It’s a lovely private accommodation, close by the beach. Owner’s family is so friendly, talkative & anytime available to help with food, laundry, transportation, travel tips…
It’s not really within walking distance from the city fortress but the owner was happy to get us there in his tuk-tuk.

Spacious room, amazing bedding, and a nice balcony with view on the trees and sea. The owners were friendly and helpful (even brought us to the train station at 6:30 in the morning!). Dinners were very tasty and reasonably priced. We had a lovely first week in Sri Lanka at Lahiru Villa!
There could be some more variety in the breakfast, and it would have been nice to include some local breakfast options as well. Bathroom needs some finishing.

Excellent stay. The host was super kind and helpful. The property is very clean , the rooms are spacious and bright .Delicious breakfast every morning after waking up was a treat. The family is so warm and friendly. Good value for the money. I really hope to come back and stay here again.

Lahiru Villa is truly a great place to stay! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the owner and his wife, both of whom are incredibly friendly and kind-hearted. The hospitality here is outstanding and genuinely heartfelt.
The rooms are cosy, neat, and spotlessly clean. The air conditioning and geyser both work perfectly, ensuring a comfortable stay in any weather. One of the highlights was the beautiful sea view from the balcony — you can hear the soothing sound of the waves, which adds a peaceful and relaxing touch to the stay.
Breakfasts at Lahiru Villa are exceptional. Everything is homemade and prepared with care by the owner’s wife, and the food is absolutely delicious. We were especially impressed when they went out of their way to prepare an early breakfast for us before 6:00 AM, so we could eat before catching a 6:48 AM train. On top of that, the owner kindly offered us a free tuk-tuk ride to the railway station — such a thoughtful gesture!
The villa is conveniently located, with tuk-tuks to Galle city or Galle Fort costing just 250–300 LKR and taking less than 10 minutes.
Overall, Lahiru Villa offers an unforgettable experience with warm hospitality, comfort, and excellent value. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

By and large pleasant stay.we were expecting a kitchen space that wasn't there.room size,cleanliness was decent.bathrooms not upto mark.the property owner was helpful and friendly though communicating in English was a problem.

Our room was so beautiful, just 5 minutes with Tuk Tuk from the fort but surrounded by trees and with a nice view of the ocean. The room was one of the most beautiful and comfortable we had in Sri Lanka, better than a 5 star hotel!
