It’s so peaceful, while swimming ,listening to the birds is unforgettable. Breakfast is really delicious, especially you should try coconut jam!! Pool location is amazing surrounded by trees. And if you are lucky you'll see monkeys too ??

Perfect jungle experience! Very clean, spacious room right in the middle of the jungle with great decor and a perfect semi-outdoor bathroom. Super kind staff. Highly recommend!

Unique experience of living in the middle of jungle. No monkeys troubles btw, many other reviewers mentioned them, we were just fine. Spotted some of them, but no interaction.
Room was very big, also had big bathroom with 2 sinks. Breakfast was highly customizable and tasty. Not too spicy by default, just perfect for my taste.
Great staff, it was pleasure to talk to any of them. Give them all raise, please :)
Arrived in the middle of the night, found navigation to reception a bit insufficient

The location was absolutely stunning. The staff were kind, attentive and extremely helpful. The facilities were clean, well maintained, and easy to use. The breakfast every morning was super worth it, authentically Sri Lankan and extremely yummy. We loved the receptionists who went above and beyond to make sure our entire group was comfortable and happy. All in all, excellent experience.

Jungle village is situated in a very calm and quiet environment in Rumassala Sanctuary which is 15 mins drive from Galle Fort. The place consists of around 10 cabanas. Almost every cabana room has its own mini bar, safety locker, satellite TV, and balcony with an amazing forest view. If you are into nature this will be the best mind relaxing spot that you can find in this Urban Galle city. There is a common pool area and a Restaurant which is open from early morning until late night and the food will be served to your room.
Staff was very friendly and helpful and available all the time. They were flexible with the check in check out times as well. Staff will be arranging tuk-tuks on behalf of us and also providing tips which will be helpful for Galle Exploring people. We had a lovely breakfast and a dinner which cost around $10 per meal per person and the food was delicious.
There is a lovely beach with a small pub and sun bathing area. The beach was nearby within 5 mins walking distance which is called Jungle Beach.
I can give a genuine 5 star rating for this place and this is going to be the best place for a Galle Explorer which loves for nature.

In reality nothing as in photos. Maybe it was 10 years ago. Need renovation, very dirty pool.

It really felt like a jungle experience! We arrived very late at night, and since there was no staff around, we got a bit lost—there were no lights and it took us a while to find our way. Thankfully, we eventually found the reception where the room keys were waiting. While we were looking for the actual room, the receptionist showed up, apologized for not being there to greet us, and explained they had expected us earlier (totally fair—we weren’t sure of our arrival time either).
But what truly stood out was the amazing birthday surprise they prepared for my boyfriend which I have asked for in advance! They decorated the room beautifully, brought him a cake that same night, and even sang happy birthday. It was such a thoughtful gesture and really appreciated.
The hotel was quite hard to find—the signs weren’t very accurate, which made navigation tricky. Getting to the beach takes around 20 minutes through a forest path, which can be quite a trek, especially coming back uphill. The beach itself wasn’t the best we’ve seen in Sri Lanka.
The swimming pool didn’t look very clean, so we chose not to use it. Also, the hotel looks quite different from the photos—it appears much more luxurious online than it actually is. In reality, the rooms and bathrooms felt quite old and in need of some updates.

We stayed at Jungle Village, Unawatuna from April 12th to 14th as a family with two kids, and absolutely loved the experience! It’s a truly unique place nestled right next to the jungle, offering a peaceful and natural atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxing.
Each wooden house is designed with two separate units, one upstairs and one downstairs. We stayed in the upper unit and had a beautiful view overlooking the jungle. The kids had a great time exploring and especially enjoyed the swimming pool, which also includes a small, safe area for little ones (but it might’ve been cleaner more :/
Jungle Beach is just a short walk away, which made quick trips to the beach super easy.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay - special thanks to Mr. Hasinthu, who made us feel very welcome. There is an on-site restaurant where you can order food. While the menu prices are a bit on the higher side, the portion sizes are decent. That said, the taste and quality of the food could still be improved. There’s a buffet setup, but no food was available from the buffet during our stay. Room service available, we ordered breakfast which was around 3000 or so (2 x sets - see in the picture - not a bad combo)
There’s also a liquor shop, but it didn’t quite meet our expectations or attractive to have few cocktails or so… so we’d recommend bringing your own preferred drinks or snacks if you’d like that so.
Water pressure was so low but not to a major complaint, hope this could be fixed!
Overall, this place is a gem if you’re looking to connect with nature and unwind. The tranquil setting, unique accommodations, and friendly staff make it a memorable spot. We definitely hope to return in the near future. Thank you again to all the wonderful hotel staff!

The peace that you get from that place is just magical. It’s located in such a way that even though you’re in a glass box, it’s so private. I couldn’t see into anyone else’s villa and nor could they to yours.
The chirping birds, the bathroom with no ceiling, the wooden floors - oh it was a magical escape.
Jungle beach which is literally a 4 minute walk is secluded and has many spots to have a ‘private’ beach day (the little hike down to it is also amazing)
The receptionist Hasindu was a contributing factor. He makes you feel warm from the time you enter, he is knowledgeable and gives valuable information for your travels. He is so honest and true to his word. It’s hard to find such excellent customer service lately but he is one of a kind. If he can, he will. Since I was alone in the middle of the jungle, he made me feel safe and gave me a sense of belonging. I loved the welcome drink (SriLankan tea)
I disliked the fact that every few mins there was a loud bang or a coconut or something falling on the roof but that’s Mother Nature and not the hotels fault.
Since the bathroom is open aired, there were lots of frogs in my bathroom and every now and then I’d get a fright.
There’s no robes or slippers (would’ve made the stay even more amazing)
Morning light could be abit much as it’s right in your face and the building is glass.
Mini bar is overpriced.
Pool is average as compared to the pictures on the ad.

I liked that the rooms were facing the jungle. The balcony makes you feel like you’re sitting in the wilderness.
To be honest the hotel looks much better in booking.com pictures than in reality. The hotel feels old. The pool was nasty, not inviting to swim at all.
