A perfect vacation oasis with home touch. My favorite hotel in Sri Lanka has to be this. Being inside is like in a private gallery. Can’t believe that there were only less than 5 rooms in this mansion with great mixture of art, history, nature.
Pretty much experienced the luxury of exclusion while in the heart of the old town.
Special thanks to the attentive staff who made amazing breakfast and shared some lovely stories at our Christmas eve.

If you are used to standardized properties, you will need to adjust to this one. Sound carries so you need to be extra careful and quiet ?

The most beautiful and comfortable hotel we ever stayed in Sri Lanka.
The staff in hotel are very polite,nice and quiet. The Owner is very warm welcome and upgraded the room for us for different rooms from two times booking. A very elegant and designed place where full of artistic atmosphere. The breakfast is great: delicious and big portions. We stayed in for two days, but it’s not enough. We will back again!

Everything! The staff were SO nice and helpful, they remembered me by name and welcomed me each time I returned to the hotel. Breakfast was phenomenal and the rooms were icy cold with that AC (which you can control) and the beds were extremely comfortable.
My ONLY suggestion would be to make the filtered water available for public use. This really wasn’t an issue because the staff refilled my water bottle whenever I asked, but just something that might make it easier for guests. :)

No. 5 Middle Street
We enjoyed two nights at No.5. A great location for all of the Fort’s sights, shops and restaurants. Daloni and her team provided great hospitality. Delicious breakfasts and drinks and snacks whenever needed. The design is beautiful and provides a calm and tranquil atmosphere.

Beautiful boutique hotel right in the middle of the fort, so you're walking distance to everything. The common areas are large and elegant. We were upgraded to a new room on our second night, and that room was lovely -- spacious, comfortable, and light. Wonderful sheets on the beds. Delicious breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Small, tidy garden with an enormous plumeria and langurs right next door. Would happily stay here again (in the upgraded room).
The room we originally booked was very tight -- it was tough to navigate, had no nightstand for the second bed, and lacked a place to hang things. You also couldn't open the windows or the louvres, so there was no natural light. Fortunately, they upgraded us on the second night. But I would not return to the standard twin room.

Fabulous stay - the staff were very friendly, took time getting to know us and making sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The Sri Lankan cooked breakfast was delicious and the room was very comfortable. Could not recommend No5 middle street enough!
