If you want to stay within the fort walls of Galle then I'd say Fort de 19 Villa - Galle Fort is a really good choice. The entire fort area is walkable so there probably isn't a bad location. From the balcony of Fort de 19 Villa you have an open view of a lot of the walls and grounds, there is no real obstructions and a nice sunset (depending on time of year obviously). The staff were extremely friendly and easy to deal with, the room, was, large and clean.
Nothing not to like, it's a good place within Galle Fort, I don't think anyone would be disappointed staying here.

We saved the best until last on our trip to Sri Lanka. We spent our final couple of days at this lovely little family-run place, and it was by far our favourite stay. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, with excellent air conditioning. There was a big, comfortable bed and a large bathroom, and it had everything we needed.
The owner, Theekshana, was friendly and incredibly helpful. He even arranged a guided tour around the Fort, which we’d thoroughly recommend.
The real highlight, though, was the sunset from the rooftop terrace — without a doubt the best view in the Fort.

Staff were so friendly and helpful.

The location inside the fort overlooking a green and the ocean is excellent. Beautiful, comfortable ,clean room which is larger than i expected, bed was super comfy,large & good value for money. Excellent roof top to watch the sunset and overlooks a park where locals fly kites and play cricket, very entertaining. Theekshana was very welcoming & super helpful. I cannot recommend this place more highly, my favorite in all my travels around SL.

Lovely accommodation in the perfect location. Worth every penny. Our room was super clean and the bed was really comfortable. The Owner was friendly and helpful & he is readily available on WhatsApp if something is wrong. I loved my Beer at the roof top in the evening watching people playing, flying their kites, dancing etc etc. Little gem of a place and excellent value. We wish we could have stayed a little longer. All the best.

The hosts were incredibly helpful and friendly, making sure we felt welcomed and had everything we needed throughout our stay. Super clean & Shower was perfect. Good WIFI. The location is perfect,there are plenty of wonderful restaurants and cafes nearby to explore, and the small beach in side the Fort is just a 5-minute walk away.
The busiest roads in week ends in Fort (specially long holidays ) & its totally understandable ?

Unbeatable location in the the Galle fort. The room is beautiful with comfortable beds and an amazing shower & speed WIFI accessible in almost everywhere in the property. Spotlessly clean attentive owners. Highly recommended.

excellent location inside the fort. the house is beautiful and so was the room. wi fi was fast and reliable. highly recommend if you want to stay inside the fort
you can see the rampats from the balcony and a narrow strip of the ocean above it so don't expect a real ocean view. but the house and the room were so lovely that I didn't mind about it. little english is spoken, but you can easily manage. it didn't bother me at all

Everything was perfect. The location, the size and condition of the room, the communication and support from the property manager. Highlight was the terrace, where we had a spectacular sunset. It beats any rooftop bar/restaurant we saw.
Extremely minor thing: there is an open window high in the (huge) bathroom, for which the manager mentioned that mosquitos could enter. We did not see any mosquitos in 2 days, but maybe putting a mosquito net to this window would not leave any room for this.

Amazing stay!! The rooftop sunset view is unbeatable-the best in the Fort. Room is Spacious,Spotless and had beautiful great architecture throughout the building. The host was very responsive and easy to talk to. Excellent value for money.

I was honestly surprised by the room as its completely different from the photos, Wonderful property right in the heart of Galle fort. Balcony room was spacious enough & high ceiling was a ++ for me. Super clean & Brilliant view at Roof top. Good value for money. The staff were excellent, friendly and always available to help with whatever we needed. Highly recommend.

It was my best place in Sri Lanka & I had an excellent stay at Fort De 19, The location inside the fort overlooking the Ramparts , Fort walls & the ocean is brilliant. Balcony room i stayed was beautiful, Charming & modern, specially HIGH CEILING was a ++ point for us. Bathroom & Room was spotlessly clean. Its very calm & silent during the night though its in front of the street. WIFI was excellent & can enjoy a coffee/tea in the balcony which was great. i was Sitting in the roof top area watching children fly their kites before dusk was almost magical. Theekshana was a nice Host, communicates well & always there for any help. I cannot recommend this place more highly.
