All round great place, lovely staff.

We highly recommend elysium! Best place we have ever been in our life! Best in Sri Lanka so far, the food is just amazing, I’m a chef with 1 Michelin star and one green star and I can tell you they know what they do, we ate at the hotel every day, best food we tried in Sri Lanka, and they have amazing local variety menu “a la carte” with Asian and Indian cuisine, the fresh fruit , drinks and wine collection they have is also unique and amazing, nobody else has it in Sri Lanka. Also the place is extraordinary , clean, calm and extremely private you really feel like you have it for yourself, the staff is very very nice, polite and respectful, anything you need they will help you, they have a private access to the beach where the view and sunset is amazing, imagine how amazing it is, I have asked my future wife to get married there at the beach by the hotel, really a very beautiful and unique place, the privacy and the calm make everything so especial, also the staff was super friendly and help me with talking pictures, amazing, what else? We couldn’t ask for more. But also the owner Catherine and her husband run this place with extraordinary excellence and also they make you feel like you are at home, taking care of everything, here details matter and you can notice that since you step inside the property. We are very grateful for everything we had an amazing experience and we can’t wait to come back, thank you so much!

The location, the architecture, the owners and most importantly the staff

This will be a very difficult review to write as I’m afraid I won’t find the words to describe the amazing stay we had. This is the most beautiful boutique hotel you will find around Galle. Beautiful decor, art, vibe, feel. We were meant to stay 4 nights, ended up staying 7 nights. We preferred to lose the money at a hotel in Bentota, just to come back here for three more nights. We understand this sounds pretentious, however, this place is so good, we felt was the right move to really finish the holiday on a high note. Perhaps the highlight is the service. A one on one superb service. Vishan surely is the most helpful and kind soul out there. Nothing was impossible for him. The chef, the cleaning staff and even the gate staff were amazing. The rooms are gorgeous, clean and very, very spacious. Beautifully decorated. We stayed two nights at a pool room and the rest of the nights at a beach view room (also with pool access). Both were equally amazing, with direct access to the gorgeous infinity pool, handy outdoor shower, comfortable mattress and pillows. The food was amazing, breakfast was superb and abundant. Although the beautiful beach in front of the hotel is not swimmable (lots of coral reef) there are swimmable beaches a few meters away. And the presence of coral reef means seeing the fishermen early in the morning do their special Sri Lankan fishing technique. We would spend all morning and afternoon at the hotel (not wanting to leave) and around 4pm get ready for our Galle fort daily stroll (about 15-20min away by car). Visiting the old Galle city during day time is torturous as the temperatures are super high and super humid. So Galle old town for sunset and dinner every night was a great plan. Plenty of places to go for dinner, plenty of shopping and plenty to walk. We felt secluded, private, cared for, pampered, comfortable…. Such a great stay!

When we checked in the staff upgraded our room to ocean view after we asked for that, this lovely hotel has 5 rooms which are spacious and well designed, and has large public spaces for guests to relax and communicate, the buildings and interior are quite comfortable as well as landscape, we really enjoyed because not too much guests there. The breakfast is very tasty and lush. The attitude of staffs are very warm.

Serene, private, great facilities, excellent staff and delicious food.

We loved the privacy without compromising on luxury. The pool as well as the property felt like a private property as we were the only guests at that time. The food is absolutely superb !! Vishal is a great great host and takes care of all your needs very well!
