Backpack Beach Hostel & Reggae Bar is an absolute gem! The location couldn’t be better—right on the beach with unbeatable sunset views that make every evening feel special. The bar has an amazing atmosphere, the perfect mix of chill reggae vibes and good energy.
The food is delicious, beautifully presented, and consistently impressive. The rooms are spotless and well-maintained, offering a comfortable and relaxing stay. But what truly makes this place stand out is the staff—they are incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything you need.
Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great vibes, great people, and an unforgettable beachfront stay!

One of the best hostel I ever stayed at. The location is amazing if you want to enjoy some quiet private beach with amazing food , away from the crowds. Madura the owner is so welcoming and all the staff made us feel so welcomed. Really loved it so much. Highly recommend to everyone

Its located directly at the seaside so you can sit in the night at the sea. The room was directly next to the public area so it was not really silent. Ther eis no Aircon in the room only fan and also no mosquito protection. The stuff was really friendly the internet was sometimes working sometimes not.
Internet was not really workig but more concerning was that there was no mosquito protection in the room.

After exploring this beautiful Island, I was looking for a super cool place on the beach to chill with my daughter. She had to return and I found my family and stayed for my last week. The best part of an amazing trip is when you find your family ??? The place is very relaxing, Madura and his family will look after you and when you are cool you can experience real Sri Lanka life. The food was out of this world and I also got invited to the real local food and best company. Thanks for the most fantastic hospitality and inviting me in. The parties have been brilliant so the combination is perfect. Highly recommend!!!

The staff is really nice! If you have any kind of problem they don’t hesitate to help you. The location is a dream, we couldn’t get enough of the views, as it is located directly at the beach. It’s a very quiet hostel tho, but we really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere! 10/10 would come back (even though there is no a/c ;))

Amazing hidden gem of a place! If you are in Sri Lanka, you must stay here! Such a perfect location on the beach, great atmosphere with lovely staff and delicious food. Highly recommend!!
