Wow. I don’t even know where to start! The rooms were very comfortable, with a mosquito net and a powerful fan to keep us cool at night. It was right on the ocean so we were able to sit on our balcony or on one of the lounges and enjoy the gorgeous views of the ocean and the amazing sunsets every day. The best past was the hospitality. Shehan was such an incredible host, he was super accommodating, organising airport transfer from Colombo, taking us to a local temple, teaching us so much of his culture and customs, playing a local game called Carum with us and going out of his way at every opportunity to make it the most amazing experience. He even showed us to two baby turtles that had hatched below the property and we had the magical experience of releasing them that night. The food was top notch, local Sri Lankan breakfasts and two delicious dinners overlooking the beautiful ocean. Truly one of the most amazing experiences I’ve had. I highly recommend.

For us, this was the best stay we had in our three weeks travel through sri lanka. If you are not looking for the most luxurious rooms, but are more interrested in genuine and authentic friendliness, this is the place for you. We met a host that happily engaged with us in meaningful conversations, taught us about the culture and prepared incredible meals. A big thanks to the host and his family for making our last days very special! The rooms themself are minimalistic, but cozy and clean and have little balconies right above this more secluded part of the beach. You can enjoy the sunset right from your balcony or play a game of carrom on the terrace below, listen to the soothing sound of the ocean washing up against the beach or chat with other guests. The host really enjoys working on and improving the guesthouse and has great visions for his place. (For example: At some point in the future there will be cooking classes offered, etc). All in all, it felt like staying with friends rather than being guests in a random room and we are very happy to have met you!

What a wonderful place to stay . The house is simple and rustic. It has everything you need and nothing that you don’t ! The beach was beautiful, almost like a private beach and you fall asleep to sound of the waves crashing on the sand. There are a few beach bar /restaurants on the beach if you fancy a change, and good local shops outside on the road. Shehan is the perfect host,nothing is too much trouble , his mums cooking is second to none and the best meals we’ve had in Sri Lanka. Absolutely 5 stars for everything .

Shehan is a great host. So good homemade breakfast. Amaranthe has special vibe. You staying literally on the beach. Beach that is beautiful and almost just for you. Sunset you can watch sitting on tarace. Do not expect great wifi or 5* facilities… experience is worth 6*. Joga on the beach. Loopy the dog was so friendly. Just few steps via beach best restaurant for seafood Sadun family… love the place.

The host was an extremely helpful and considerate person who was more than willing to help us during our stay. The stay was very pleasant and in a fantastic location right on the beach. There are plenty of places to eat nearby and good access to Galle. I would recommend the place for the budget traveller. Thank you, ..Shehan!

Really really friendly owner. Offered dinner with his family. The Cabana is directly at the beach so at night you can hear the waves coming and going. Recommended for people who want to chill at the beach and want to live in an authentic and natural Cabana with trees being part of the house (for example in the bathroom).
We expected a little bit more from the pictures we saw at Booking. The outside light wasn't as bright as shown. Internet was not available, also no warm water. When it rained it also rained into the bathroom of the Cabana. The location of the house is a little bit far away from Galle Fort, definitely a tuk tuk is needed. After 9 pm it is a little bit hard to come back from Galle city to the location of the Cabana and there aren't many things around.

I love how they built the cabana facing beachfront. Sleeping with sound of waves has been the best to end my journey in Sri Lanka. no air-conditioner in room and water heater in bathroom but it alright since it was really cold at night. The owner is really friendly and helpful showing me where to get on and off the bus to center.
I got bitten something not sure what it is, i think its from the bed. Lamp in room quite dark. I believe the price is somehow quite high comparing to the facility provided. They offer me Sri lankan breakfast but i think it can be added with some fruit or protein like eggs. 1000LKR i can get big breakfast like in other place i stayed in sri lanka. Beach is not blue, but its not in their control.

On the way between Hikkadua and Galle u can find a piece of paradise with very friendly family. We get warm welcome and everything that we could expect. We've stayed only one night but Shahan and his family made us feel like a family. Don't hasitate and book ur days in Amaranthe Beach Cabanas!

Wonderful location by the beach, comfy rooms, super hosts, friendly, kind, local, going above and beyond to make your stay easy and unforgettable for the right reasons. Perfect place to hide away to reset. The sound of the ocean is super relaxing
