Mr. Robert is a good man, speaks decent English, is really helpful and responsive and present. This property is near the bus stop and it is surrounded by nice greenery.
The road from the bus stand to the house although it is walkable but is not in good condition & without streetlights so if you have big trolley bags like I had so better take an auto to reach there

Wow, we booked initially for 2 nights but we stayed 5 (and we could have easily stayed longer). The rooms are modern, well maintained, very clean and comfortable. They look much better than on the photos. There is always hot water in the bathroom, there is filtered water for the guests, space to eat and chill outside, there is a nice view from the rooftop (you can see the Dambulla caves hill not far), and you can use the kitchen and our room was quite cool even without using a fan. It's incredible that you can have all this at such a low price (a small tip: it will be cheaper to just arrive there without a reservation through a website. In april 2025 non AC room was 1500 LKR!). We also appreciated Robert personality and his family. As for the location we actually enjoyed being out of town. At the main street (10 minutes walking) you can find restaurants cheaper than in the center (rice and curry around 350-450 Rs.) and the neighbourhood folks are very nice.

The place is beautiful and amazing, and it has everything you need. Robert, the hostel owner, is cheerful and helpful. The hostel is located in an area surrounded by forests, yet it's not far from the city center. I recommend everyone to come here.

robert and his family couldnt be more welcoming and kind-this was for sure our best acommodation in sri lanka, but definetely all thanks to the energy and vibe in the house. always sharing the local food and traditions. we got to celebrate new years with them and those memories will be unforgettable, also robert took us to see the elephants and let us use his bikes whenever we wanted

It was my first stay as a solo female traveller in Sri Lanka and Robert and his family welcomed me as if I was part of their family. I really enjoyed my stay and I could visit Dambulla and Sigiriya very easily. Thank you Robert, when I come back to Sri Lanka I will for sure come even just to say hello :)
