The overall price was really good (~4500 LKR with breakfast), the bedroom was nice and the host was taxing us around to the cave temple and back free of charge.
The bed was quite short for us (we are about 1.80m), but the host said they will replace it soon. The host tried to provide extra service (tour to Sigiriya,...), which was too pushy for us and quite expensive (3500 LKR, but we did not try to bargain it).
We also were charged taxes additionally to the price (even though booking said it was included), so be careful to check that.
Furthermore there were frogs in the bathroom, it did not bother us, but might others.

Indunil, the owner, was an amazing host. Friendly guy with nice energy and commitment to make your stay a perfect one. The place is so beautiful, with a nice garden and the rooms are big and comfortable (AC included). So far the best accommodation on my solo trip through Sri Lanka. Indunil prepared a full day of tourism through Sigiriya which was more than expected. Good value for money. A place to repeat.

Very clean, modern, had all the amenities we needed and the bed was lovely! Wifi was really fast, ideal bathroom facilities and serene outdoor space. The property was a 10-15 min walk to the Dambulla cave temple and about a 10 minute drive to the main town area. The host was incredible, he went above and beyond for us! He organised an amazing safari tour, taxied us around for dinner and took us to an iconic sunset spot. Would 100% stay here again!!
Its about a 40 min walk to the main town but you can easily get a tuk tuk for cheap.

Nice room, clean and comfortable. The owner is friendly and very helpful. Great Location, near to the Dambulla Cave Temple. Also easy to reach Sigiriya by car or Tuk Tuk.

We stayed at perfect hideout for a night but it was incredible as Indulin is a great guy who tries to help whenever you ask for something. He took us to a restaurant and early in the morning he took us to Sigiriya for tuk tuk price with his comfortable car. The hostel is more than a room; garden&villa style home. Trust it will be best choice in Dambulla and you will wish to stay more.
A bit far to center, like 3km not walk distance. But depending on your bus direction there is a bus stop nearby.

The host picked us up at the bus station (300 LKR)
He suggested a great sunset place and booked us a great tuktuk driver for our 2 days in Dambulla. He gave us an umbrella and provided a knife and cutting board to prepare our fruits.
Breakfast was ok.
The bedsheets, bathroom and room were clean.
During our stay multiple unwanted frogs (11), lizards, worms came out of the toilet and Aircon. There was a huge amount of black ants on the doorframe of the bathroom and spiders on the walls.
Short bed (my girlfriend is 170 cm and it was short even for her)
The power was out for the better part of each day. Because of that we arrived back always to a very hot room, there was no warm water in the shower, couldn't charge our devices and use the aircon.
He always said that the power outage and the frogs and insects in the room are typical problems in Sri Lanka but we didn't experience it anywhere else.
It was frustrating that after the provided experience was nowhere near the one advertised he still charged the whole price.
Obviously, we could have a place with reptiles and without power for much less.

Location off the main road which allows you to relax without noise. Spacious room with AC and friedndly host.
Damp and moldy smell in the room as humidity is very high. Ants,lizards and frogs in the bathroom

It was a lovely smart clean room. Outside the room was the garden with deck chairs, very peaceful. The host was particularly friendly and helpful, he took us to a lovely location to watch the sunset. Wed left our iPad at the previous hostel and he went out of his way to phone up not only the hostel but those surrounding it to make sure we got it back. Also arranged a moped for us to rent. Great host and great stay.

Even though we stayed one night, the owner was very hospitable and showed us where to watch the sunset nearby. He gave advice on things to do on our way to Knuckles after seeing the Cave Temple. Perfect pit stop for the night after Ritigala on the way to Knuckles.
Would be good to have warmer shower option. We would have happily eaten dinner at Perfect Hideout if it was available for purchase. Even something simple and cheap like Fried Rice, Kottu, or chop suey, does not have to be elaborate curry dishes with rice.

The stay was nice. The guy is really friendly and everyday wants to know how you are, what you plan to do and if he can help you. The breakfast is served at a time that suits you, and you can give meal suggestions as well. The roti never happened for us, but we did get regular pancakes with coconut and honey, fried egg and toast. In the area, theres multiple guest houses and a nice rock on which you can see the sunset at only 5 minutes walking. Sigiriya is half an hour away by car, to which the guesthouse guy can arrange a roundtrip for around 4000 rupees. Theres not that many restaurant choices nearby; Golden Palace and Athula are top choices, but only serve a rice buffet. Overall: nice stay at a nice place.
It started off a bit weird, since our contact guy mentioned upon arrival that wed only get a thin mattress, since were Booking.com Genius Members; so, apparently he didnt make enough money on us to give us a comfortable mattress? The mattress indeed was very thin and short, so if you have a sensitive back, maybe make sure you dont book with genius discount.
