I would highly rate the host Gama. He was expectionally helpful and his hospitality was absolutely outstanding This is a must visit place if you are thinking to stay in Dambulla.

Wonderful
When I arrived my room was not ready so the host gave me an upgraded room for the same price so that I did not have to wait. The breakfast is very good and the owner give you really valuable advice for whatever needs or questions you may have.
There is nothing I did not like.

Disappointing
The location was near to Dambulla Temple Cave and easy to access on foot or via transport. It's near to banks and places to eat. The place is kept clean and tidy. Looks like the pictures online. The bed was comfortable and firm. Mosquito net helpful but needs washing.
There is something wrong or contaminating the water at this place coming up from under ground. The water had a bad smell and the place smelled sulphuric and gross. I felt nauseous the whole time. I had to use a spit bottle because I salivated from the smell and taste of whatever it was. I started brushing my teeth with bottled water after the first day. The food is cooked with the pipe water. The first and only meal made me nauseous. The dishes and sheets smelled bad. It is a construction site. They are building a pool. My room was next to the construction. Waking up to hammering was not nice. I can't stress this enough, the water at this place has issues. Be safe.

Great location and the staff were very friendly. All my other comments are negative.
The room had little natural light so was depressing. One of the walls was actually a floor to ceiling window, which the staff often walked past, so i felt like I had no privacy. The bathroom was grubby and the bidet's nozzle frequently fell off, resulting in the bathroom floor being soaked, and a slip hazard. Wifi in the room was very patchy. The breakfast was disappointing. I had a budget single room and the room rate was relatively low. However, in Sri Lanka I've had much cheaper rooms at a significantly higher quality.

Exceptional
Without a doubt, the best choice of the entire trip. It’s a lovely family—very polite, respectful, and attentive. The atmosphere at the hotel is excellent. Good breakfast, and they also offer to prepare lunch and dinner, which were also delicious—actually, the best food we’ve had on the trip so far. They also give great recommendations for things to do and places to visit in the area, and they’ll drive you there and pick you up. The rooms are clean and come with towels and air conditioning. In the end, they also found us a taxi to our next destination that was significantly cheaper than what we had found ourselves! All in all… a total win! Thank you so much for everything, Irene, Cristina, Noelia, and Carol.
The only downside is the mosquitoes… but with the mosquito nets in the room, and if you bring an electric mosquito repellent… not a single bite!

We are a group of 4 adults aged in our sixties. We loved our stay at Gamagedera Resort. The price was excellent value. We chose the breakfast and dinner included option. The rooms were spacious, the bed really comfortable, the meals delicious with generous servings. The owner was very helpful and shared great information about the area and Sri Lanka. He also taught us a new board game. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The setting is quiet, but only about one block from the main road. There were lots of Mosquitoes in the region and Citronella repellent was provided by the resort along with nets over the beds. We took a plug in repellent for the room which worked a great. We highly recommend the resort and would stay again.
The bathroom was a little dated but still met our needs comfortably.

Really kind host and conveniently located in Dambulla. Close to the bus stops and a great base for visiting Sigiyra and Cave Temple. Basic rooms but good value for money.

This is a very pleasant Guest House with a very friendly owner and staff. A nice spacious and quiet garden.You meet there very interesting people. They organize wildlife safaris and other local trips. I really recmmend this place.

Lovely family owned business. Amazing hospitality, nothing was too much. They made us lovely food for breakfast and dinner. Super chill environment. Had such a nice time here! We hope to be back again!
