The stay at Pradeep's place was just amazing! It's the perfect timeout on your travel through Sri Lanka. The quiet little homestay is located within rice fields and farms. Pradeep and his parents also run their own farm, he showed us around and its very interesting. Definitely can recommend having dinner there, mom is cooking and you will not regret trying her delicious sri lankan food. You can do a daytrip to Pidurangala rock from where you have an awesome view on Sigiriya rock. Go early in the morning and you can see the sunset from there (if its not too cloudy). There also are temples you can visit. I will recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience true village life where you can calm down and still have an adventure. Thanks to Pradeep and his family and good luck with the roof top that is being built:)))

Definitely the best place we stayed in the entire island!!! The dinner and breakfast prepared by the owner's mom was delicious, made with organic fruits and vegetables that grow next to the house The owner and his family are wonderful people, they welcome guests with a big heart and a smile If our trip didn't have a limited time, we would definitely stay longer

Pradeeps mum cook for the guest fresh traditional food of Sri Lanka, it was really delicious and awesome to learn what they traditionally cook here and also the garden tour, where Pradeep show and explain us everything. We sit every evening together with him and the other guests and have a great time.
You have to be aware that there are a lot of animals because you are in the middle of nowhere, but when there was a problem Pradeep was always there to help.

A truly authentic experience! Pradeep was a fabulous host who truly enhanced our trip. He showed us around his farm, shared wonderful meals with us and was attentive to our every need. On top of that, he's a great storyteller and always made us laugh!
The location is a bit far from town, but that's also part of the charm - very peaceful and relaxing!

Pradeep, and the whole family there! They are wonderful people and would advice everyone to go here! We even booked 1n extra night (we got lucky). Stay at least a couple of days. With mom we sorted tomatoes, than we helped with dinner. Rabath brought us to the river to swim, Maduwa took care or us. In the evening we would also just chill and play some Sri Lankees games. And the food is freshly made vy the family, sooooo good the rooms were clean, big with a nice view. We would go back in 1 second, even if it was just to see the whole family again. Thank you Pradeep and co - we love you!
It's rainseason haha

Thank God that Pradeep asked us to stay a night longer so we got to spend some time at this very special place. We'd stayed longer, if we weren't only on a 2 week holiday.
If you're looking for a unique homestay experience rather than just a place to sleep, this is the place to go.
Blue Mountain View is nestled in a village around 14 km south of Dambulla between rice paddies and palm trees. It does mean, that it's a little bit away from everything, but there are local busses/Tuk Tuks leaving from the main road to Dambulla/Kandy and Pradeep can give you a lift there if needed. But sleeping in a rural area does also mean you'll wake up to the sound of nature every morning.
The room we had was pretty back to basic, but clean, equipped with a fan, an on-site bathroom with more or less warm water and with direct access to the beautiful shared balcony and nature.. What we got out of your stay went beyond our expectations in terms of getting in touch with the locals and learning about Sri Lankan culture. It is truly something we'll really take home and we feel absolutely grateful for. Pradeep makes you feel very welcomed from the minute you arrive. He's a very warm hearted person and if you want to you'll spend time with him, his family and his little crew. :) He gave us a really nice tour around the farm and told us a lot about the plants they grow, eco farming, the village life, Sri Lanka, Buddhism, ... . His crew is friendly and always smiling. Prabath took us for a swim to the canal which was really good fun!
The freshly home cooked dinner by Pradeeps mom is super delicious. Make sure you don't miss this. Breakfast was typical Sri Lankan, too. We loved having it on the balcony.

Pradeeps homestay is a place in paradise! From the breakfast balcony, you see dorectly into the wonderfully green palm and vegetable garden, and in the evening, you hear all the junle noises. If you like, Pradeep shows you around, sharing a lot of interesting knowledge on plants, animals and gardening. He is an exceptional and very friendly host, happily helping you with whatever you need, also organising tours around Dambulla, Sigyriya or to elefant safaris. Being a teacher, Pradeep also knows a lot on education, politics or economy and he loves to answer all your questions while you enjoy the tasty dinners his mother cooks with a lot of love - I absolutely loved her chicken kotu roti she cooked on my last evening! The bed is very comfortable, the bathroom offers whatever you need, and everything is nice and very clean, being in the middle of nature. If you look for an absolutely special stay in a wonderful place with extremely friendly people instead of luxury, you will find whatever you could dream of - and be very happy at Pradeeps wonderful place!

We had such a lovely stay with Pradeep and his family. He made gorgeous rooms right in the backyard of their farm. He was so welcoming and generous. His mom made the best food right from the products out of their garden. We loved to come back again and see how he is doing. Very fun place to be with kids too! (Our son (7) had the best time klimbing trees and wandering the garden. Our daughter (10) loved the hammock!) Really recommand!! Ps: call Pradeep before you arrive. He knows a much better road than Google Maps wants you to follow

We chose to stay here based on the many positive reviews. The scenery is truly spectacular but other than that we were a little disappointed.
We were not aware that the hotel was this remote, its about a 30 mins drive from dambulla with no restaurants or supermarkets close by. This is only suitable if you actually want to spend a day or two in nature. We chose to visit pidurangala which is then 1h drive away and quite expensive.
We had dinner and breakfast here (as there is really no other choice) which were tasty. Dinner is 8 per person (usually you would pay 1-2 for this) and breakfast is 3. Bottles of water are 1.
We did not meet the host that is talked about in other reviews, but a very friendly 17 year old. His english is not the best so all organisational matters like arranging tuktuks were done via whatsapp with the host.
The actual room we stayed in was not the room depicted in our booking for some reason (we only realised after we left). It seems that there is older and newer rooms. The older room we stayed in was very basic and not really clean. The shower had neither hot water nor any water pressure.

Wonderful
The food is amazing and was one of the best we had on our entire trip. Pradeep and Pabath we're incredibly helpful. If you are looking for a taste of authentic Village life in Sri Lanka, this is the place. It is the perfect Base to explore the surrounding area (Dambulla, Sigiriya, Minneryia, etc.) and if you need anything organized, they can help you with everything. Eating Milkrice with Pabath's Family is something we will never forget!
The two person rooms are quite old and can get a bit hot at times. There is no Mountain View on the property (since everything is overgrown), but as soon as you take a stroll through the fields you will have a beautiful view. The balcony and all other outdoorspace is communal, which can also be really nice, just something we didn't expect. If you are looking for solitude this is the wrong place, but you will be warmly welcomed and feel like a friend of the family.

Our stay in Blue Mountains View was amazing. Pradeep is such a nice guy who will do everything to make you feel comfortable. He went with us to a river nearby where we could swim, he took us to the ricefields, and showed us his organic garden.
The whole stay was amazing. The cooking skills from Pradeep his mother are amazing. Everything we ate was made of the organic garden. In the evening we ate with the other guests and had some drinks with everybody. We would definitly recommend to go to Blue Mountains View!!!!

If you are looking for a real Sri Lanka experience, this is the place to go. Pradeep makes you feel like a local.
The food is delicious. We absolutely recommend the dinner, all done with organic vegetables and fruits that come directly from the farm.
Everybody is very friendly, the room is clean and comfortable.
The farm has so many to see and taste. They offer a tour in the rice field and spice garden.
We loved to stay there!

Maybe Blue Mountains View is not directly on a touristic route but this is also part of its charme and we loved the rural area and quietness! Pradeep is the best host we ever had. He told us a lot about life in Sri Lanka, showed us his fathers farm, helped whenever he could and really conects with kids (as he is also a teacher!!).
All guests had breakfast and dinner together in the yard - very enjoyable and delicious. Thanks to the amazing cooking of Pradeeps mother.
We will come again, hopefully. Thanks a lot.
