The mamagement and staff were polite and helpful. Located in quiet location that is close to beach and shops. Bed was not that comfortable. Room is average size with attached showeroom and balcony. Happy with the cleaniness of the room. Overall, it was a good experience and will use again.

They had not one type of breakfast and rooms are too small, we had few issues at the hotel but staff fixed it very quickly.

The staff was really nice and location good, close to the beach.
We had multiple cocroaches in our room on the ground floor, the window was broken in the toilet, and the mosquito net was torn. All and all, the hotel is quite run down and would need a renovation. We were disappointed because it looked very different in the photos.

Nice room with balcony, clean&safe. I stayed total of 5 nights. They refilled amentities as I ran out, just remember to ask daytime.
I didn't feel necessary unsafe but I took the longer route to the beach after first day. Evening time I used Uber to get places.

The room and bathroom were clean and tidy.
There are 2 train stations nearby which is handy if that’s how you’re travelling. You can easily do a day trip into Colombo via the train which leaves fairly regularly from mount Lavinia station.
Can walk to the beach across the train track.
There is a supermarket and wine shop within a few minutes walking distance.
There was no soap or other toiletries, no drinking water. Basic things like this should be included when you’re paying this much for a room.
The lights in the hallway shone very brightly into the room from the window above the door. I got up a few times to turn them off but they kept getting turned back on. Not sure why, we were the only guests here. Nobody at reception to ask.
The wifi was terrible, would connect for a minute then immediately drop out.

The property has called upon its history of struggles and achievements during its colonial past to make the decoration and wall hangings into something that is a daily source of interest to its visitors. They have successfully blended that with a small swimming pool and other decoration to give an immediate feeling of relaxation. The proximity of a family beach which stretches for miles in both directions and also houses cafes and restaurants with value prices to dream about
I feel sure that many of the things that I found such a feature of daily pleasure will be another person’s area for niggling criticism. I however, can only make my own judgement based on having enjoyed a holiday to remember which was in no small way attributed to this hotel and its lovely staff
