Perfect location for airport (going or arriving). A lovely little place, that's very quiet. Host is amazingly helpful, great knowledge of the local area, transport and cricket. Even let me use the room/shower hours after the check out time as I was leaving late afternoon. His wife cooks really nice food and speaks good English (even if she doesn't think so). Great place to stay at a bargain price.

Our host was super nice ! He changed money for us. We had warm shower which is appreciable. The place is 2 minutes away from the bus station. Really good local breakfast.

Ower seems to be motivated, but improvement is needed.
Doesn't look like the pictures anymore, most of the furniture got removed, very basic. No sign with name, had to ask in a close by restaurant. No towels, soap or toilet paper provided. At night, the street is dark, even as male I felt not that comfortable. YES, I'm 100% sure I stayed at the MAZZ Homestay. Comment of the owner below is not correct. He even contacted me via Whatsapp and told me to remove the rating

We stayed there only one night, but it was satisfying. Staff was very friendly, room was clean and basic, but it is enough for this price, wifi worked well and this place is very close to Negombo central bus stand. Supermarket and local restaurants with tasty local food are close to this Homestay (up to 200 metres).
The fan worked only on minimal or maximal speed level.

Very Good
I liked several aspects of this homestay- especially the friendly family that runs it. Rome, the manager, is flexible, considerate, and helpful. The breakfast of toast, omelette, bananas and tea are a nice way to start the day. I also like the low price, the convenient location, the privacy and quietness- away from road noise and tucked away in a neighborhood. Living between a residential area and a business district gives a visitor a glimpse into the lives of regular people who aren't involved in tourism.
At this price, it's unrealistic to expect much more than what it is. It reminded me of a shared "dorm" homestay in Colombo, only with much bigger beds, friendlier staff, more space, fewer people sharing rooms, a spacious clean bathroom with hot water.
