Room was spacious. The property is delightful with amazing art.
It not that we did not like it. There is an opportunity to train the staff better. It seems like many of them go through a binary checklist. E.g., we arrived for breakfast a little early. Instead of asking us to be seated in the lounge and getting us coffee, they asked us to come back at the time breakfast was ready. These small details are important to the customer experience.

This was a nice surprise. When our other hotel informed us they had double booked one of our nights, I scrambled to find another option. We were very lucky to happen upon this one. Beautifully decorated, great location if you like to walk, very good breakfast and accommodating staff. We stayed in room number 13 which had a little courtyard just below the restaurant. Unbelievable value as well. Ended up being as nice as our other hotel for half the price

Wifi good, bed super comfortable, room a & bathroom very clean, staff lovely & helpful, and breakfast absolutely incredible.
As a positive and a negative, they are in a cul de sac, which makes a quiet location (good), but you have to walk out and around the cul de sac to reach the temple. It is still highly recommended

The decor is lovely.
The beds and pillows were uncomfortable, the shower water was cold, reception did not check back if the cold water issue was resolved (in other words, you had to keep chasing reception and the issue was ultimately not resolved), the hotel is located close to a pitch where loud parties take place on Friday nights (and maybe other nights) or loud cricket matches take place (on Saturday mornings at least), the hotel had lost our reservation, and then later asked for payment after we had checked out. Overall, not good value for money if you expect a quiet/ambient atmosphere, hot water, and staff that are a bit more proactive when there are snags in your stay.

My wife and I stayed at Nyne Hotels Lake Lodge for 3 nights during our vacation in Sri Lanka. The service we received from everyone at the hotel was exceptional. The food was fantastic, and my wife loved the Sri Lankan Breakfast we had. Make sure to request the Sri Lankan breakfast the night before as they require advance notice; it's well worth it however. We did have some minor hiccup with the hotel WiFi but the staff stayed on top of it and resolved it. Hotel vicinity to key landmarks in Colombo is another plus as it only took us 10 - 15 min drive usually to get to most major locations on our itinerary. Rooms are well-maintained and there's beautiful artworks throughout the hotel.

I stayed at Nyne Hotels Lake Lodge on Wednesday, November 12, and was immediately impressed by the kindness and thoughtfulness of the staff. The hotel itself is beautiful, with stunning artwork throughout, koi ponds near the entrance, and an open-air dining area that creates a relaxing atmosphere. It’s clear that a great deal of care went into the artistic design of the property, and I found this refreshing. The meals were well prepared and very enjoyable. Every staff member I interacted with was warm and attentive. I had forgotten to bring an outlet converter (I am from the United States), and unlike my previous hotels, my devices couldn’t fit their outlets. When I mentioned this at check-in, they happily loaned me a converter. This small act made a big difference—especially since it allowed me to fix my hair before leaving—and I appreciated their helpfulness very much.
The only drawback of my stay was the noise level. My room was located near a large meeting space, and the hotel was hosting a group dinner that night. The sound of dishes, voices, and music carried directly into my room, making it difficult to relax or fall asleep early. In the morning, I was again awakened by loud sounds of staff cleaning and stacking dishes outside the room. It was disappointing because the hotel was otherwise lovely, but the noise made the stay less restful than I had hoped.

Small boutique hotel tucked away in the middle of the city, very near to the lake temple, gangaramaya temple and a mall. The room is simple yet Asian styled, very minimalist and sophisticated. The room is quiet at night which allowed me to go to bed early - around 8 am I was not disturbed. But the best part is the hotel team. The manager, the reception team, the restaurant staff - exceptionally polite, efficient, accommodating and well-spoken. They asked all the right questions to make my stay as comfortable as they could. Having learned that my train leaves at 7 am the next day and I have to be out the door after 6 am, they put together a breakfast which was ready by the time of my check-out. Loved my stay there!

We loved the hotel’s interior; its contemporary and minimalist finishes, the fabulous Sri Lankan artists’ work displayed throughout the hotel, comfortable seating areas, and the dining area-airy and comfortable. The hotel and neighborhood were quiet at night. And best of all are the people working at the hotel: professional, friendly, kind, and helpful.
