The place had a nice vintage vibe to it. It was like it stepped into the past. The room was specious. The common space was wonderfully decorated. The pool was also nice. The staff were very cooperative and well behaved.

Looks just like the photos. Front gate and entry is amazing and the huge tree on entrance. Zen restaurant close by has great Japanese food

The breakfast was splendid and the front of house staff, a wonderful woman, was so helpful - we were there during a public holiday period - but calls were made on our behalf & transport was organised - impeccable service! The pool was very well kept and we were permitted to swim a couple of evenings which was very welcome.
Unfortunately a lot of gardening work was done just before we arrived so it was a bit of an eyesore. Upside: There was more light and the birds were more visible so actually we managed to see several less common birds more easily.

It’s a calming place in the middle of such a busy city Colombo. I liked the interior.
Hotel’s a bit rundown. Staff were not that friendly or nor where to be seen sometimes. Property had a good size pool and not cleaned regularly. Due to the leafy surrounding pool was full of leaves. We had to ask to clean the pool before we went.
Staff didn’t encourage us to have breakfast nor gave us an option to order. Just said don’t have breakfast.

The room was very big and spacious and decorated nicely.
The room was very mouldy and when walking in was hit by the strong smell of mould. Secondly, the bathroom did not have a closed window, so every night there was a large army of ants that would swarm the toilet bowl. I also developed really itchy skin and a rash from the bedsheets and the bed runner smelt like mould.

Breakfast was great, an authentic sri lankan style cooked fresh on site. the location of our room was amazing with a huge tree right outside the window that was alive with the most stunning little chipmunks.
The property itself was in need of some TLC, It is a beautiful walled in area but just a little tired.
