Firstly i would say, the staff was really helpful,cheerful and friendly, also Garden was really clean and well maintained. My Room was really clean and comfortable. I have seen a bad review on booking.com about rooms in bougainvilla Hotel, because of that I had little bit afraid to stay there. But when I was there ,I realised that comment was wrong. Because Room was really nicely arranged and no any bad smell comes. They used fresh flowers to decorate my room too. Also ,specially I need to say about meals in bougainvilla. It was really delicious and well cleaned. I really need to stay there once again.

The very helpful and kind staff. Firstly they showed me a very dark and smelly room, but when I asked if it was possible to have a more airy and light room, they changed it. They greeted me with a fresh juice. The stuff was always ready to help and fulfil my requests - they even checked the timetable for a train to the north
After reading the other reviews I expected a far better hotel, but in fact its just passable. There was a weird smell in the room, no shower soap, smelly towels. Although they brought the modem in my room, the Wi-Fi was not working at all. The food wasnt good. When I arrived from a walk at 7 pm it was all dark around the restaurant and swimming pool, the reception was empty, it was a little creepy.

Well appointed room in a beautiful garden setting with excellent pool and loungers. Super friendly and helpful staff. Plentiful and tasty meals.
Wifi signal in our room was weak, but good wifi available in common areas.

Where to start... everything was perfect at Villa Bougain. First, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Then, the villa is beautiful, with a wonderful and well maintened garden and a nice and clean swiming pool. The room was big, really nice and clean, with a good A/C. The food was so tasty, and there is a lot to eat. You have to have at least dinner and breakfast if you stay here, you won't regret it.
The value for money is unbeatable ! We felt like in a palace for a really reasonnable price.
It was the perfect place to end our Sri Lanka bicycle trip !
Thank you for all, we will come back !

The staff, the pool, the gardens, the food. The friendly atmosphere amongst other guests. The owner's response to problems. Many guests return frequently.
Some issues with our room on arrival. However, these were quickly rectified when brought to the manager's attention. The lounge/kitchen area of our room could really benefit from air conditioning. It was too hot to use this part of our suite.

You should remember that it is small family-style hotel. And if remembering that fact - everything is great. Although rooms can have some issues, most of them are compensated by super kind and helpful personnel. We have got everything we need soon after complaining (water issues, clearing, etc). Hotel has very nice inner garden with lots of birds, lizards, etc.
The restaurant has quite small menu, but all dishes we have ordered were really taste and affordable.
The hotel's owner often nearby and can help you with any issues (even these not related to the hotel).
Transfer service and a few tuk tuks are always available.
Some of the garden's animals can sneak into your room (lizards, spiders), but you find no dangerous animals on the hotel's territory.

I was looking for quietness and I found it here. Beautiful settings and great room. staff were excellent polite and very helpful. it is one of the most relaxing places I have ever visited. The pool was clean and quite big, grounds well kept very tidy. nice rural location for good walks. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking quietness away from the beach. the beach is only a short tuk-tuk ride from the villa and is provided by the villa. overall I would give Bougain Villa 10 out of 10 on all its aspects.

Exceptional service. Big rooms with big bathrooms. Beautiful garden. Well maintained swimming pool. Restaurant on site with fantastice food and service. Property arrange transport on demand. Spa treatments on site.
Nothing really not to like. A little distance from the beach - but transport is cheap and easily arranged - so no biggie. Food portions are huge - so you might feel bad about wasting food. Seriously - can't find any faults.

Manager Mr. Sampath was really nice guy and was supportive. Took good care of us and provided everything that needed.
There were so many insects and mosquitos in the room... I would request hotel to take care and should prevent it from entering the room.

The staff is super friendly and always try to give maximum for the guest. The meal selection is very impressive. The chef always check with the guest what needs to be improved or any other necessary adjustments. The pool, the garden,... everything is clean and well maintained.
Up on arrival internet was slow but the manager helped with an temporary adjustment. It was a bit inconvenient.
