The architecture and overall beauty of the property are amazing and very well maintained. The location is extremely calm and relaxing, making it a perfect place to unwind with family. The hotel was not crowded, and there were plenty of peaceful areas to relax. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, which made our stay even more pleasant.
The only downside was that some basic toiletries were missing from the room.

A silent quiet space which has the vibe of an old bungalow style rooms the common area and pool was soo cute .
Honestly the staff was soo helpful the space being a tropical country and rains there were a few mosquitos the staff then gave us something to out in the room which moved them away . also outside the room . it was solved.

A fabulous heritage style property which has well appointed rooms and very comfortable common areas. The location close to the near deserted beach was beautiful - there are a few beach bar/ restaurants within a short walk. The food was excellent- great to have a la carte breakfasts and fresh seasonal choices for dinner. The poolside daily afternoon tea and snacks were very welcome. The staff were outstanding- friendly, efficient, attentive. The gardens were an oasis - beautifully maintained. The train that passes at the bottom of the garden gate was a quirky feature which we embraced - we enjoyed it watching local life go by.

Colonial style, beautiful well-maintained hotel, nice garden with pool, excellent service, good breakfast, plenty of choice, large room, quality mattresses. Wide and long beach, you can swim. You can get to the beach across the train tracks but without any problems.
From 5 to 7 morning your peaceful sleep is disturbed by loud religious speeches over an amplifier/megaphone. I don't know just the day we were there (Sunday) or is it repeated every day of the week

Our room was quiet, comfortable and very stylish (the whole hotel was). Breakfast and dinner were beautifully prepared and delicious, in a nice open dining room next to the pool. Everywhere - the pool, the garden and airy lounge was designed for relaxing in style. The area is geared for a quiet holiday, the town is small so not much else to do but enjoy the property and fantastic beach. It was amusing to hear the train rumble by, and to cross the track to get to the (huge, clean) beach. The staff were charming so we felt welcomed.
The entrance is down a track without much signage so we weren't sure where it was - a small thing, easily rectified.

The sea can be unforgiving at times, so stay within your depth. The Muse like others in Bentota, including Taru Villas next door, requires better equipment for the lifeguard eg a surfboard & flotation device.

Wow! This property was such good value. They own this property and the one next door (which is connected by a small passage way!) This one is more modern, while the other is more "historical" but both are stunning and you couldn't go wrong either way. The rooms are beautiful, and the food is excellent. It's a small hotel so there are only a few guests which was great. People alternated between hanging out at the beach, by the pool, or in the shaded areas playing games and reading books.
The location is so charming - it's close to the Bentota restaurants if you want to uber for dinner. But you'll probably never want to leave either since the food is so good and you have everything you need on property. Right outside the backyard of the hotel is the beach. It's a very short walk and you have to cross over these train tracks. You'll hear the train go by several times a day, but it's not too loud! I actually sat to watch the train and passengers go by often, and it made for lots of great pictures and videos.
I appreciated how helpful the staff were. I could Whatsapp them no matter what I needed, for instance when they helped me arrange a massage at the spa. They also surprised me with a special dinner, birthday cake, and flowers for my birthday! I wish I had discovered this hotel earlier on my trip because I would've stayed the entire time. It was my favorite hotel of my two week long trip in Sri Lanka, and there were many other great ones!
Don't hesitate, just book this! I will never stay at a larger hotel again.

This hotel is stunning! We prefer boutique hotels as they always seem more friendly. The staff were so nice! The Breakfast is so lovely, we also had dinner there too. Our room was beautiful and opened out onto the delightful garden. The beach was a very short walk through the garden, a very nice clean beach. We would highly recommend and can't wait to go back one day!

Amazing property. Super clean and luxurious. Comfortable stay and great food. All you want.
Owners were too strict about their cancellation policy. We decided to stay 3 instead of five nights and they made no accommodation for us and we were charged the full amount.
