Nice little Room in the back of a family house, 3min walk to the beach and Bentota Station.
Supermarket about 5min away, as is a coffee house (Randy's coffee) and ATMs.
Wifi and AC work, small fridge is there. Warm water in Shower over an electrical heater.
Lovely patio where the enormous breakfast is served (1000Rs) and where in the morning you get woken up by the cute Squirrels.
Really nice owner family, the mother speaks little English but her daughter is fluent and I even got everything sorted with the mother.
Absolute value for money, no luxury but a solid accommodation if you plan to spend your day exploring anyhow.

Hospitality, cleanliness.
The hostess did her best to make the stay happy.
Contrary to what was detailed in the room description, there wasn't even a very small bottle of water and no mini bar of course. The hostess did provide a flask of hot water when requested. Added to this no tv in room.

Amazing friendly staff, delicious breakfast and impeccably clean, nice patio. The staff came out and lit mosquito repellent for us without us having to ask.
It is a nice quiet area but maybe 5-7 min to the beach and 10 to the closest restaurant.

The Bentota Orchid House is a beautiful little homestay. The sitting area outside the room is gorgeous and the breakfast we ordered was really good and so big we hardly finished it.
The room was big and had aircon and the bathroom was big, too. It was clean and we had everything we needed. The people who brought us breakfast were always smiling and looked very friendly. The location is great. Just a short walk from the ocean and the city.
It was hard to communicate at times and they called their daughter to tell us about tours in the area. She also called us to tell us checkout was at eleven and it was only ten and we were all packed up and ready to go. That was a bit confusing. But all in all everything was really great. I'd recommend this place.

I recommend this place. The owners are really nice. Room was clean. They welcomed us with little flours and towel swan on the bed :) and amazing mango juice! breakfast was huge and delicious! We were full for half of the day. And what is important- there was no problem with vegan diet. The owners are supported by their daughter- she answers every question. She helped us with bus timetable. Just make reservation :)

Nice room attached to the family home but with a separate entrance from the back. There is a table to sit outside in the back surrounded by a little garden area. Room and bathroom were quite clean. Air-conditioner worked very well. Nice hot shower. Breakfast is not included but the owner can make you breakfast if you ask (extra cost of 1100 LKR). I would highly recommend getting breakfast here. She made so much food for me. Curry, fruit, coconut roti, string hoppers, woodapple juice, fruit, egg, etc. all of it was delicious! WiFi is also very good when sitting inside the bedroom.
Only criticism is that there were some spiderwebs in the bathroom and a couple of small cockroaches in the bathroom. Also the bathroom faucet leaked a little.

What a wonderfully sweet and kind couple running the guesthouse. The breakfast was huge and amazing! The room spotlessly clean. Only 1 minute walk from the train station and 2 minutes from the beach. It was a great stay!

Not really anything ... I guess the bed was comfortable but that's about it. Also, the mother of the family owning the house was a very nice lady, smiling and making me feel comfortable, as the son I believe.
First of all, they complained about me booking late (same day booking happens). When I came, the room was not ready, even though they had several hours to prepare it as I arrived at 11PM. I was very tired and had to wait for over 30 minutes to shower and sleep. The room itself is very small and not convenient at all. The owner's motorbike was always parked blocking my own: I told him but nothing changed, so every time I had to go out we had to move it. Time and energy lost fixed with a very simple correction. In general, they did not worry about how I felt or if I was comfortable, not asking if I needed anything unlike many other places were hosts are so friendly. And finally, no option to pay through the booking app - only cash - which was inconvenient as I did not have many. I do not recommend this place, it is overcharged and you can find much better alternatives in the area.

Good value for money with necessary aminities in a budget room. Had air conditioning system, clean toilet, comfortable bed, hangers, cabinet, WiFi, soap and a small sitting area in front of the room. Close by the beach and the rail station. Lots of restaurants around. The neighborhood is so calm and green. You'll get a fresh natural feel when you walk in the neighborhood. I loved my stay a lot !
A bit too small sized room. Perfectly okay for a solo traveler like me.
