The views from the rooms are amazing. The food was homemade and delicious, and the owner was very kind and helpful.

Gorgeous, peaceful view over the hidden valley. Best sleep ever. Great coffee. I really enjoyed the coffe/tea workshop nearby. You got the clear sense that the whole enterprise involves and enriches the local community with women taking on larger roles. This makes the stay even more pleasant and satisfying.

The VIEW and location are exceptional. You must wake up early ( 5.20 am ) to catch the sunrise but it’s so worth it . The room is comfortable and spacious. It’s 40 mins away from Ella train station but a Tuk Tuk is the best part of the journey with a drive past the waterfall. ❤️

it has amazing view. to rest and to enjoy the nature it is one of the best place. their food is definetly amazing. i love that they have coffee factory in it.

Outstanding Stay English family of five (18,16,14) took two “cottages”. For two nights. Photos can’t do justice to setting. Right up in hills on a tea estate that has not changed hands since 1800s. Feels like you are overlooking your own private valley. Getting up at sunrise to witness the rainforest wake up from your balcony was truly special. Each cottage has its own space and very well appointed and simply but tastefully furnished. Proper retreat with talented chef cooking up delicious dishes. Lovely walks from the doorstep. Beautifully done tea show room and tasting centre two minutes walk away. Super friendly hosts and team. Absolute gem.

The first thing that stood out was the beautiful view of the mountains from the room balcony. The balcony and full-length windows face east so the sun rises right across and the morning light fills the room (but there are blackout curtains too). The balcony is great to sit and enjoy the view, especially mornings and evenings. The room itself is spacious, the bed is big and comfortable. We also ate all our meals at Roseland itself and they have a variety of Sri Lankan and western dishes. We ate only Sri Lankan food and all our meals were delicious and like simple home-cooked Sri Lankan food - definitely a plus! Rajiv (the owner) and his wife were very responsive on WhatsApp to our questions. Rajiv and his staff helped us decide on some of the hikes that would suit our preferences and also organized transport. One of the staff familiar with the routes also accompanied us as a guide. The cost was very reasonable too. Roseland is a tea and coffee estate and it was interesting to see their tea and coffee producing process as well as do a tasting of their coffee and different teas - we ended up buying quite a few of them too! They have small factory/production section near the entrance to the property as well and it was nice to smell the wafting fragrance of the teas during our post-dinner walks. Rajiv was very kind in helping us get some money changed without going to the market, and also having our train tickets collected from the train station without us having to go there (train tickets booked online still have to be collected in person prior to traveling), which was a big help and a time saver. Overall it was a very calm and relaxing environment. We stayed there for 4 nights and would love to go back!

The views from the property are exceptional !! Perfect for a sunrise view from bed or the balcony. Rajiv and team do anything exceptional job and they do have a coffee and tea tasting session

The view was amazing , you could see the sun rise from your bed itself . Every room has an amazing view, the rooms are very clean and the food is amazing. I give Roseland a 10/10

Fantastic hidden gem in the hill country. Astonishing views lovely food and friendly staff. Cannot fault this place

The location is incredible, on the hillside surrounded by trees and great for wildlife spotting. We saw more wildlife species here than we did anywhere else in Sri Lanka. The food was delicious with large portion sizes and the staff were incredibly accommodating with any query or request we had. We really liked spending time up at the restaurant space and exploring the site of the estate on foot.

The view from the room is amazing. I love to be surrounded by nature. The food is excellent and fresh. The owners and staff are so welcoming and will go out of their way to make your stay extra special.

Breathtaking view of the valleys from each of the rooms/villas As we were staying 5 nights Dinushka (manager) upgraded us to a bigger room with a huge window facing the valley in the shower Food was delicious and the portions were quite large. Our favourite was the pumpkin soup and chicken curry Each of the staff members went above and beyond to make us feel home Dinushka helped us arrange for transport to Diyaluma waterfalls (highly recommended - even better than little Adam’s peak) She also helped us purchase the train tickets (Ella - Nuwara Eliya) and transport to the station

The View from the rooms were fantastic. The route to the location would be a little hard, but it was awesome place ones visit there. The Cottages are very good.
