Kind man checking us in.
Even though the price is low I expected a cleaner room. The bedroom was uncomfortable/dirty and the bathroom was horrible. I didnt feel comfortable at all. We slept a few hours, got our stuff as soon as the sun came up and left. Definitely not recommending this place.

Dirty, unhygienic, bites from the bed. Someones toothbrush was in the room from the stay before. The bathroom floor had grime built up from years of not being cleaned. The room does not have a sea view and the host ignored me about a payment dispute.

We had an incredible experience during our stay! Our room was very clean, with fresh bedsheets, and boasted a breathtaking view of both the beach and the lagoon. To our delight, we even had the pleasure of witnessing an elephant strolling through the lagoon right outside our bedroom window for a few days.
The location is ideal, situated at the beginning of the bustling main street, ensuring that there's no shortage of options the moment you step out.
We were extremely pleased with the hospitality and wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

amazing property super close to the beach!! the staff were so nice and helpful, giving us water and arranging surfing lessons. the room was huge and clean. we slept well on the beds.
its at one end of the main road of Arugam Bay so you have to walk quite far to reach the center part. the tap water was very salty, even for showering you could taste it and feel it on your skin/hair. they need a better water filtration system.

Very beautiful and spacious room! Huge and comfortable bed. It's very quiet so we slept well and woke up to a beautiful view. It's a little bit outside the main centre but still walkable distance to everywhere. Also the staff was very friendly, they rented us a scooter and did laundry.
As others have mentioned, some bathroom parts are rusty and water is slightly salty. However this didn't bother us at all.

Dean is very helpful and friendly.
The place is quiet and you have a 20min walk through the beach until you reach out the main surf spot. If you are looking for a quiet, away from beach parties and comfy place but still close to restaurants and beach this is your place.
They also provide laundry service which is very helpful:-)

The location of the hotel is near the beach and Im a quieter area of Arugam Bay. So if you want to relax and stay away from the busy partying in Arugam Bay, this is your spot (and if you want to party, its just a short walk of max 15 minutes away). There are multiple restaurants nearby with western and Sri Lankan food for multiple price ranges.
Moreover, the bed was comfy with a mosquito net, the airconditioning in our room did work properly and our room was clean.
The manager, Dean, is super friendly and helped us arranging surfing lessons and a taxi for a good price. He is very hospitable and speaks good English. The other staff members were friendly too.
Would recommend staying here!
The shower did smell a bit weird as read in other comments, but that did not really bother us actually.

Wish I could have stayed longer! Dean and his team had been fantastic hosts in Arugam Bay. The hotel is a short walk to the beach and nothing could really beat that! Its also a short walk to the restaurants (appreciate this as there isnt much noise as compared to the centre, most especially on the weekends). It had all the conveniences I needed. The room had perfectly functioning AC, the water pressure was great, and the team had went out of their way to assist with surfing guides, tuktuk and onward transports. The place felt very secure as someone was always there on property. Overall, 10/10 recommend for value, comfort and staff! Would stay here again next time.
